  • The Illini will be back to being competitive next year. This year was a letdown, but not unexpected after overachieving and losing Mendenhall.

no, it was much more Illinois sucking. I'm hoping for much better football and basketball out of them next year.

          • IF Oklahoma beats Tech tonight, the Big 12 gets into a strange predicament.

            • Penn State is up 42-7 in the 3rd. I think it may be ok to say that they will win the Big 10 and go to the Rose Bowl.

                            • I just watched my Cal Poly Mustangs almost beat Wisconsin in Madison on senior day!

It took three missed extra points and OT for a Big 10 to hold off little division 1-AA (FCS now).

I feel sorry for the kicker, but proud of my Mustangs.

                              • My only comment on the Tech/Oklahoma game: This is why Alabama was #1 in my poll all this time.

EDIT: OK, I lied, two comments. I hope to god that the pollsters and the computers don't overreact and elevate Oklahoma above Texas because of the nature of this game. Texas should remain above Oklahoma for the simple reason that if you discount Tech because of the nature of this defeat, Texas beat Oklahoma on a neutral field. (I don't think anyone will argue Tech being behind both Texas & Oklahoma after the beating they've taken tonight, though.)

                                1. Alabama
                                2. Texas
                                3. Oklahoma
                                4. Florida
                                5. Penn State
                                6. Utah
                                7. Boise State
                                8. Texas Tech
                                9. Oklahoma State
                                10. USC
