Somebody tell me this: after the Habs scored a Bruins player smashed his stick on the goal out of frustration and it broke. How is that not an unsportsmanlike penalty?

Also, dumb penalty to end the period.

I think the penalty to end the period should have been tripping/diving. He so fell over that stick.

As for the smashing of the stick: I don't think I've ever seen that called. I suppose as long as the player can say it is in frustration of his own bad play, it's tolerable?

Hitting the stick, yeah. But when it breaks I thought it was a penalty.

I know if a player slashes at another player's stick, and it breaks, that is a penalty.

But stick smashing in frustration? Only if you're showing up the ref, I believe.

Sitting back is the stupidest thing you can do. Play the last 5 in their zone, not yours.
