  • Barber supplants Jones as Dallas Cowboys' starter

Cowboys make switch for postseason opener

01:27 AM CST on Sunday, January 13, 2008

By CALVIN WATKINS / The Dallas Morning News

IRVING – In a surprising move, considering the timing, the Cowboys have decided to bench starting running back Julius Jones in favor Marion Barber for today's NFC playoff game against the New York Giants, according to multiple sources.
I don't understand this particularly. If it didn't matter all season, why now?

      Me either

If a "OMG TeH COWBOYZ" have a new RB Starting, no one cares on the Giants, they still will play their game.

But, I applaud all efforts by teams to have a niche, heck Brady and the Pats have the Ball, Ball, who has the ball now

      • Here we go, gonna be a great game.

Interesting, Gates is in but Lo Neal is out. Harrison is in.

Now we can put Peyton back at 500 again in the playoffs.

              • Damn and I gotta go.

                Pick by Rivers.

Why can't we get a break like that?

                • Bolts have broken back to tie it. Vincent Jackson finally living up to his hype in the playoffs.

Looking forward to two really good games today.

                      I am as well

I was torn in this game, i chose the Colts, but I was blessed having watched Rivers for 4 years when he attended N C State, our company had tickets and he gave me many memories, along with Torry Holt and Koren Robinson at WR

Rivers has that tendency sometimes to "chuck it" and get picked.

                      Best of fortunes anyhoo

                        • And a big INT return for a TD at the end of the half for the Chargers gets nullified on a bull**** holding call. That better not be the difference in the game...

(Note that not only did the Charger blocker have his hands inside the Colt player, but the Colt player threw the Charger blocker to the ground to boot.)

                              • WOW... that's the second time that Manning has been intercepted off of a tipped ball by his own player! And that one was bad (on the player, not Manning)!
