I said, redshirt or play. I was right, as usual.

            • I was in Vegas through this evening, so I went to the sports book to place a couple bets. I picked the money line on the Fla. State upset. Bet $10, so that will pay $31 (i.e., $21 profit).

Lost my Notre Dame v. Navy parlay for $10.

              Up a net $11.

No you weren't . Georgia still had a shot to do something late last year with Tereshinski, but Richt decided to play for the future and UGA ended up losing some close games as a result of freshman mistakes (a great argument could be made that if Richt stuck Stafford on the bench for most of the game, Vandy would have turned into a 'W' as well as Kentucky, and possibly even the UF game).

Give him some garbage time play, but throwing in the towel on a good season when you could have had one was just utterly silly.

                • That was his decision, not mine. Again, let me point out that from the very first, even before he reported, I said redshirt or start. Redshirt was fine with me. The fact that he's gettting it together after 1 year validates my opinion.
I guess bottom-line is that the coach should have listened to me.

Er... no. He'd likely be doing this well (which, btw, isn't close to the hype he got when he came out of high school) if he just played in UGA garbage time last season. He just had to learn the offense.

Though I'm not sure if he has yet. He's no where near the elite QBs in the SEC (Tebow, Woodson), for one.

                      • Why? For all of the fans who bet for ND, there are lots of ND haters who bet too. I think the line pretty accurately reflected where the two teams were -- even up at a neutral site.

                        • These would be the BCS matchups if the season ended today.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: Ohio State v. LSU
                          ROSE BOWL: Oregon v. Michigan
ORANGE BOWL: Boston College v. Oklahoma
FIESTA BOWL: Kansas v. West Virginia
                          SUGAR BOWL: Georgia v. Connecticut

                          - Ohio State & LSU are #1 & #2.
                          - Oregon, Kansas & Boston College get plugged in according to traditional conference ties.
                          - The Rose takes Michigan to maintain its traditional Pac-10/Big Ten matchup.
                          - The Sugar takes Georgia first to maintain its traditional SEC association.
                          - Final allotment order is Orange, Fiesta, Sugar.
                          - Orange takes best team left (Oklahoma).
                          - Fiesta takes best available team left (West Virginia; Missouri cannot be taken since it would exceed the two-team-per-conference limit).
                          - Sugar takes Connecticut (auto-bid due to Big East championship) with the last slot.

                          • But the Big 12 is worthless. Ok then.

                            • Just more evidence that if the BCS has a bias towards any conference, it's definitely the Big 12.

                              • Aroo?

As of right now I'm not sure how they couldn't have Kansas and Oklahoma up there. Of course one of them will fall. If Kansas loses, they will fall HARD (think of USF's fall after the Rutgers game). Oklahoma has a history they can count on to not fall so far (a la LSU).
