  • Imran, the weeping boy.
Face the facts I've been telling. SEC and Big 12. Get over it.

There's never been a bias towards the SEC in the BCS, Imran. When the SEC has been selected it has proven its worth. ***** about the Big 12 getting title shots it doesn't deserve, because that's the truth of the matter.
The BCS generally is less biased for the SEC than the media and the human polls (isn't saying much, btw), but the media is usually all on this bull**** idea that the SEC is far and away the best. And so many morons in the South like to think that the better teams in other conferences would never get through an SEC schedule.

A post on another board I frequent makes this point better:

How again does the SEC get that claim about being the super conference? There's only one really good win with LSU over Va Tech. Then there's that great win by Tennessee over... wait, they lost to Cal. Auburn beat South Florid.. never mind. 'bama has that win against a mediocre Florida State te-- nope, guess not. But they do enjoy beating the snot out of Troy.

There are wins over some middle-to-bottom-of-the-pack teams in other conferences, with SEC East leader Georgia over 5-4 Oklahoma State, South Carolina over 3-6 North Carolina, Kentucky over 5-4 Louisville, second in the west Auburn over 5-4 Kansas State. The only other BCS games were West Virginia over Mississippi State and Mizzou over Ole Miss. This is the sum total of all SEC games against other BCS opponents (unless I've missed a game).

To tally it all up, one marquee win, three big losses, and 4 wins by top half of the conference teams over a bunch of mediocre schlubs from other conferences (and 2 losses going the other direction). Oh, and a bunch of non-conference schedules against cupcakes, just like everyone else, that get covered up because they start SEC play in week 1. That way, no one sees the games against Florida International, Western Carolina, Louisiana Lafayette, and Tennessee Tech because they get sprinkled into the season when there's an LSU-Alabama game on.

How again is this the best conference?

SEC is a good conference, but let's not "crown their ass" yet, like some people have been doing for years now. I'd put the Pac 10 on the same level this year, for one.

Man... I wonder how much wrong you can get . The Big 12?! It's most likely going to be the Big 10 (OSU) vs. SEC (LSU) or the SEC (LSU) vs. the Pac 10 (Oregon). The Big 12 (Oklahoma) is 4th on the list.

            • ...and we haven't even mentioned a 1-loss West Virginia (or, god help us all, Connecticut) out of the Big East yet.

Though it would be interesting to see what would happen should Kansas go all the way and beat the Sooners in the Big 12 Championship, or if Mizzou avenges their earlier loss.

I'm always aware of the 1 loss WVU . They'll knock off Connecticut, I'm sure. And I'd love, love, love to see Kansas go undefeated the rest of the way.

LSU, Kansas and Oklahoma. Throw in the rest of them, Texas, Oklahoma St., on and on, top to bottom.
                        Too bad, so sad.

Neither Texas, nor Oklahoma St. has a chance at the title. And shouldn't it be LSU, Oregon, Oklahoma?

Though if you were being silly and just comparing conferences, the Pac 10 wins over the Big XII.
