Grab Earnest Graham or Michael Pittman if they're available. I suspect it'll be a committee approach with those two. (Someone already had Pittman in my league so I grabbed Graham, though I think Pittman will probably be the better play.)

I don't look for McNabb to be back next year with the Eagles. I don't know what they'll do, but I don't see him in Philly.

My gratitude (though it was a Poly league, so I could have killed you if I went to bed right after my post ). I took Pittman, just in case.

Cadillac, Petitgout Out For Season

Coach Jon Gruden’s weekly news conference started late Monday, but once it did the news was bad – running back Cadillac Williams and left tackle Luke Petitgout are out for the season with knee injuries.

Gruden said the two will have season-ending surgery this week.

‘’It’s a big blow. Other people need to step up now. Tough day that way,’’’ Gruden said.

‘’We’ll move on and do the best we can in the absence of these players.’’

Gruden said Michael Pittman and Earnest Graham will fill the hole left by Cadillac, who tore his patella tendon at the end of the first quarter of Sunday’s 20-7 victory over Carolina. He also said there
were a lot of thoughts going on regarding roster moves, but he would not comment on whether Ken Darby would be recalled from the practice squad or anything else.

Gruden said he did not feel snakebit over the injuries.

‘’I don’t think catastrophic is the word. You think of hurricanes and things like that,’’’ Gruden said. ‘’We have to rally around this football team.’’

While Pittman and Graham replaced Williams against the Panthers, Donald Penn lined up at left tackle after Petitgout went down early in the second quarter. Anthony Davis, who has started at left tackle, was inactive Sunday.

Gruden was proud of the defense’s effort and Monte Kiffin’s game plan against Carolina. The Panthers avoided a shutout by scoring with 22 seconds left.

‘’We had a pretty good pass rush at times. It was a collaborative effort,’’ he said. ‘’Standards are high. We want to win games and to do that we have to play very good defense; stop the run, get some three and outs, get turnovers. We need to do that Sunday’’ when the Bucs travel to Indianapolis to play the undefeated and defending champion Colts.

With the first quarter of the season over, and the Bucs sitting atop the NFC South with a 3-1 record, Gruden said the team will have a different look.

‘’Just like the first quarter started on the road against Seattle, this quarter starts at Indianapolis and it will be a great challenge,’’’ he said.

‘’We realize the Colts are very talented and we’ll probably be a heavy underdog.’’

Good thing I picked up Pittman. Though that deals a blow for Tampa's long term chances. I still think they win the South, because they suck less than everyone else, but it won't be pretty.

Petigout may be more of a harm than anything else for your RB situation... Pittman wasn't that much of a downgrade from Cadillac (though he was playing better of late), but losing the LT is always going to hurt the running game a lot as well as the passing game (see Philly last night...)

so much for rooting for the Chargers this season. . But I still think they didn't have much of a future with Marty. But they went about it all wrong, and got an even worse head coach. argh.

they keep recycling the same head coaches over and over again. Including the cowboys head coach- though they seem to be doing good. but I still think a lot of assistant coaches or coordinators are only cutout to be assistants or coordinators.

But they really need some fresh blood in the NFL coaching scene. Course I still remember everyone thought the guy from Florida university would be that fresh blood to put a spark in the NFL.

Well I was disgusted at the game.

Didn't get a chance to watch it, ended up getting the Indy Denver game.

I think the Chargers can salvage the season but that will mean firing Norv Turner and getting someone else in here.

Sure we are 1-3 now, but if we can start winning we can get back on track and the Norv Turner experiment was a bust.
