I can't tell you how much it pained me to have to pick him. And I don't even care for the Oilers. Yet again, picking a Philly pained me as well... oh well...

I strongly considered Smyth. But I looked at his record in tournaments where he plays with actually skilled linemates (vs what he played with in Edmonton). His point production was very low in those situations, so I avoided him. He thrives in grit situations, not talent.

Thats what I figured too. It was either him or a young, injury cursed Eastern player. If said player is still around for my next pick, I might take him.

Reason I pick him however, is that I think there still going to be times where he'll be more grit than skill. I don't think the rest of Sakic's line is very grity, so maybe Smyth will be the guy crashing the net?

Oh well. I'll be happy if I can make the playoffs this year (so close last year...)

First off, you really need to calm down. This is just a hockey pool.

You need to remember that Hot Mustard was part of first two Poly leagues so even though his RL situation prevents him from being in the league this year, he should still be welcomed here.

You also need to realize that throwing temper tantrums every time you don't get what you want is not acceptable and usually a waste of time. Maybe it works with your parents and you get everything you want, but it won't work with most people. It certainly didn't speed things up last night.

I don't think so, but I haven't follow hockey much before I started playing in these leagues (I don't really have a "home team" to cheer for since the Jets are gone...)
