Guys -- I respect, even enjoy a good debate/ fight but can you debate now instead of what you might have said in the past

Oh and Yelle was one of the Flames first string penalty killers before and pretty shortly after returning from injury. He was lower in penalty killing minutes IIRC due to missing some games due to injury. . . PLus Lombardi seemed to be a favorite when the flames where down two men

I still considered him more risky than others. Buffalo was one of the top off-season losers in player movement, will he be AS good without Briere, for instance? 3rd round is a good spot for him, the payoff can be huge.

Probably not, but the drop off shouldn't be too bad. Even if he's just in the 30s in those stats, he's still a decent third rounder.

It was between him and a goalie on my last pick and I just couldn't resist a 33 win guy on a team that should win lots.

But you obviously have more of a scorer strategy

But Buffalo didn't lose any LW (IIRC). They lost their top two centres, Briere and Drury. I don't think Vanek's icetime will be affected.

I'm of the opinion that he's more likely to be "a Lupul", where if you remove him from the blessed circumstances he was in before, his production levels would fall noticably.

Of course, I'd like to be proven wrong because I loved him last season...
