Why would it be retarded? There's talk about wanting more goals, making the nets bigger. So what's the big deal?
Because the goals created would be repulsive and would change the dynamics in front of the net so that they would be even more Wrestlemania than they currently are.
"Change the dynamics"? Oh, please. Gloves don't take up that much space on the stick, so if they're on the stick, why shouldn't they be considered part of the stick?
And didn't the enforcement of holding / interference rules take out the Wrestlemania?

The glove might well present as much total area as the entire stick.

Glove on puck can't be a goal, unless we want to play hand ball in front of the net. Similar for the feet, it isn't soccer.
The stick is what is supposed to meet the puck for goals, that's an integral part of the game.
Except when it bounces off a player - body, head, skate, glove (and judged not to be played with a kicking or batting motion). Or it's in the goalie's equipment, and you push him into the net.

Yeah, that pretty much sucked.
I think a goal should be a goal should be a goal.

Don't see how one is more or less valid than the other.
There's a reason defensemen are supposed to clear the opposition players away from the goalie quickly.

Yes, there is. To keep guys from whacking in rebounds into the net, not to keep them from whacking the goalie into the net. (Not that they'd exactly be kosher with that, but you know what I mean.)

See one of my previous posts. I already complained about it.
