The Bears have a chance to be the fourth team in NFL history (since the merger) to go undefeated in the conference.

I believe all other teams to do so were Super Bowl winners.

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports Falcons head coach Jim Mora could be fired as early as Monday morning.

Mariucci reportedly on the short list.

It also looks like a done deal that Cowher will retire. Pittsburgh has reportedly assembled a list of 15 potential candidates topped by in-house guys Ken Whisenhunt and Russ Grimm.

Others on the watch list... Art Shell, Denny Green, Tom Coughlin.

A columnist recently wrote that Detroit should not allow the Lions to use the city's name. Let it be the Ford Lions until they can have a better product. Or the NFL should look into revoking ownership.

Pittsburgh, up 7-3, starting from their 1, drove the length of the field, Parker about to score a 2nd TD only to fumble the ball outside the goal line, recovered in the end zone by Cincy for a touchback.

After a false start to begin the drive, on 3rd play Cincy scores on a 66-yd pass. Now they're up, 10-7.

Taylor making the most of his opportunity

Now that's the kind of play calling I'm talking about. What took so long, coach?

Trailing 3-0, the Texans took the second-half kickoff and marched 70 yards in nine plays, with rookie running back Chris Taylor doing the heavy-duty work.

Gary Kubiak told Taylor last week that he would get a lot of work Sunday, and Taylor is making the most of his opportunity. Ron Dayne, who had a sore ankle last week, started but came to the sideline and has stayed there. Kubiak knows what Dayne can do. He wants to see what Taylor, an undrafted free agent from Indiana who spent most of this season on the practice squad, can do.

If Dallas is going to the playoffs, it won't be for long, if they play like this.
