Well according to BK then, gay people are not allowed to enjoy company parties the same way that straight people enjoy them. "Straight people are suppose to have fun at these events, but gay people are not allowed to do the same."
Look, the company is throwing the party. If you want to get pissy and complain about how you don't feel 'included', that's your problem.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

The company WOULD include (and legally, has to include) my spouse at the parties. They ARE permitted. The problem is PEOPLE LIKE YOU, Ben. You are the problem."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Legally the company has to do **** all.
Thanks for proving my point. This is a party and you think you are legally entitled? FTS!
If I invited someone to a party and they *****ed at me because I thought it was unfair that other people got to bring a guest, you know what?
How would you feel if you weren't invited at all. It's a party for ****'s sake. You should be thankful that you got invited, except you want to be a giant ***** and be ungrateful to the invitation.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

We've even been over this before, and you acted like an idiot there as well.
If I invited someone to a party and they *****ed at me because I thought it was unfair that other people got to bring a guest, you know what?

And let me be clear, because it is utterly apparent to me that you are hopelessly ****ing confused.
I am not at all worried that I wouldn't be allowed to bring my partner. I know for a fact I would be allowed to. All I am worried about, are *******s like you. Out of respect for the rest of the people, I don't want to make a scene when the inevitable religious bigot like yourself comes and makes a scene, especially after a few beers.
I am sacrificing for your failures as a human being, the least you could do is have enough respect for that not to blame me as the problem.
What a tremendous ******* you are. You're beyond a "wet blanket", you're human ****ing scum."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Sorry Nikolai, it just bothers me, that whole attitude of entitlement.
The last time I went to a company party, I had a pretty good time. I've only been to one. The company was really generous and I helped put it together.
I had people *****ing at me just like Asher did. The food, what a nightmare. Didn't matter what you served, someone got their panties in a twist. Some wanted to bring more then one guest. You name it you got it.
At the end of it I didn't get one thank you. Not one. The boss thanked me for taking time out to help set it up and get everything organised, but my coworkers? You'd have thought they were the ones shelling out for the party.
If I had it my way I would have kicked out everyone who was ungrateful. I worked hard putting it together.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

BTW, this is exactly why I'm not out at work. All I'd do is act like everyone else. If someone mentioned what they did over the weekend, I'd mention "Oh, I went with my partner to Algonquin and went camping". Then some ****ing religious nutbar like Ben goes "Oh, why do you have to flaunt your sexuality. Why do you have to be a wet blanket!" etc.
Totally ****ing predictable. ****ing *******s.
You have the balls to call it a ****ing "attitude of entitlement". My ****ing God what an idiot you are.
Yes, Ben, gays are entitled to being treated like everyone else at the workplace. GET ****ING USED TO IT.
How the **** are you not banned. Any ******* spouting **** like you are about blacks would be permabanned.
And what the flying **** are you talking about the *****ing of the food? WTF? You are so ****ing crazy I don't know what to do with you.
You are everything that is wrong with the world, Ben. I hope even Nikolai can see how much of an immense douchebag you are, but I feel he is blinded by the fact that you are a BIG, HAPPY, SHINY, LOVING CHRISTIAN that he can't see you for the hateful bigot you are."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. And this is the other reason. When people like Ben talk **** like this, I have the irresistible urge to clock them in the face. I'm a wet blanket like that."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Yes, look up legal precedents in Canada. This even applies to school dances.
Same with school dances. You want to bring your boyfriend to the prom, the school has the right to toss the both of you out. That was the way it was when I was at the school. You had to get your guest approved by the school before they would let them onto the property. The idea being that it was necessary to know who was coming and going, who was there. They didn't need a reason to reject your invitation. Most of them were approved, but if you didn't check beforehand, they would toss the both of you out. Seen it happen, and the people were exactly like you, *****ing about their entitlement.
Look, *******. The invitation says "bring your spouse". "Spouse", in Canadian companies, includes same-sex partners legally and otherwise. My SO is afforded all of the same rights and privileges as any other spouse in the company.
1. They would cancel all official functions.
2. They would announce that because of the lawsuit from X, we have decided to cancel all functions altogether. Again, don't be a douche.
Or 3, they would just not invite you.
I am not at all worried that I wouldn't be allowed to bring my partner. I know for a fact I would be allowed to. All I am worried about, are *******s like you. There was a legal case in 2002. School said the guy couldn't bring his boyfriend to the prom. The courts not only said they had to let him bring his boyfriend to the prom, the courts forbade the school from canceling the prom in protest. That's the latest legal precedent in Canada.
Like it or not, gays are free from discrimination in Canada.
I'd love to see you file a case. Have you never heard of the phrase, "don't be a giant *****?"
Being a giant douche is to be like you. To make an issue of it.
I lived in Vancouver, I really don't care. Seen it, dealt with it. My experience is that if you were gay you shoved it in the rest of our faces, and we just held our own functions. Worked for us, and we had way more fun. You see, we don't complain when we aren't invited. We just have fun anyways.
What ****ing *******s. Seriously. Scum."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

How is it being a giant douche to bring one's spouse to a party where it says bring one's spouse?
If a company wants to make a gay people only party, not my deal. So long as I ain't paying for it, I don't really care. Their money, they get to decide what they want to do that, and I think you are forgetting this principle.
See, this is the problem with ****wads like you. You think me bringing my spouse to a company christmas party is "shoving it in your faces".Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Originally posted by Ben Kenobi View PostCatholic school, btw. How on earth does that apply to company parties. It was a wrong decision then, and it remains so. Catholic schools have the right to uphold their mission for which they were founded, and freedom of association is one of the fundamental freedoms. Just because there was one terrible ruling, doesn't change the fact that freedom of association exists.
You just told me it wasn't the case, not for schools or parties. Now when shown the court case saying it is the case, you whine about how it was the wrong decision.
That is the precedent...suck on that, Ben. There's no way a large publicly-traded company in Canada is going to deny gay spouses from attending the company parties, even aside from the legal issues. The PR backlash would be astounding.
Doesn't change the fact that you are being a giant *****.
1) The fact that I sacrifice bringing my spouse to parties and being out at work (and in fact, frequently having to lie and refer to my boyfriend as the opposite gender) in order to not offend and create a scene due to intolerant idiotic bigots like yourself
2) The fact that I think it is acceptable to bring my spouse to an event where it says 'bring your spouse'
Or are you being the douche for making an issue out of it all.
Being a giant ***** is when you claim you are legally entitled to do so and would sue the company over a company party.
I've never said anything about suing the ****ing company, you ****ing lying and slanderous pig****er.
How the **** are you allowed to post on this site. Seriously, what the **** do you contribute aside from posts that lie and slander and offend?
Yes, it is. You know why you are doing it, and everyone else does too. You are making a statement.
