Have just started in Primo Levi's Se questo è un uomo (if this a man) and will take on La tregua (the truce) immediately after that. Quite thought provoking so far. I appreciate the fact that he didn't try to influence the reader's emotions too much.

I'm "reading" the Odyssey at the moment. Listening to an excellent audiobook of a Dutch translation of it, that is (Ton Lutz leest de Odysseia). I listened to it before when it was a radio series about 13 years ago.
Has anybody here read 1421? Is it any good? I've come across it numerous times in book stores, paged through it a few times and often feel tempted to buy it, but I'm not quite sure about it...

I didn't read the book. I did see the documentary.
It was pretty good but I'm not convinced
Thanks... That was sort of the impression I was getting too, though I only just found out it was more than just the book when looking up a link for it.

Just finished the dictionary. Turns out the zebra did it...
Wrong, it was a Zyrian speaker, drunk on zythum... a fermented malt beverage made in Ancient Egypt. If you read the book more closely you'd know that believers in the "Zebra" theory are dealt with in the entry on "Gullible". You must have skipped that part after being told it was taken out.
