    Subtract .1-repeating from 12:00 and tell us it makes a difference. Better yet, have your boss do it...

        Yes he would. Paychecks are rounded to the smallest monetary unit (US=penny).

            Rounded up or down? Depending on the time clock used, either could be the case. At one job, our time clock is software on a computer. We're paid for every second (****ed if I know or care about what's done to the fractional seconds). At my other job, we have an old punch clock that although it records every minute, it only marks for 15 minute intervals and you have to punch 7 minutes before the start or end of your shift else it'll go into the next interval.

                  That doesn't mean anything, as I tried to show with two actual real life examples.

                    They aren't the same.

                    n(n)^x where n is 1 is always one.

                    lim x -> inf will be 1.

                    What is the value for

                    n(n)^x where n is 0.9 repeater?

                    what about the lim x -> inf? that should be 0.

                          I'm pretty sure that if there was a probability of 99.999999blahblah% of winning a CIV battle, there'd be a few reports on here of losses.

                              Its an asymptote, no? It comes infinitely close, but never reaches... like Zeno's paradox.

                                3(1/3) = 1
                                3(0.33333...) = 0.99999...
