That FB page I tried to link to above has been going to town on Trump and has now been shut down by Meta! One of Australia’s most popular left wing social media commentators!

Is this a US thing? Are you guys now living in a totalitarian state?

Yes. It's always been that way. Genocide, slavery, women as chattel, McCarthy, Jim Crow, Segregation, MK Ultra, Banana Republics, Patriot Act, Oil Wars, Epstein. It's always been a small group of sociopaths leeching off of and oppressing everything they can.

BREAKING: Iran confirms it has no interest in a reciprocal assassination against Trump because no weapon it could possibly build, not even nukes, could do more harm to the US than the current president.
Iranian Supreme National Security Council reportedly held a 6 hour emergency session before concluding, and I quote, "Why would we take out our best guy?"

Pentagon sources say Iranian military planners actually have a protective detail assigned to Trump. Not to kill him. To make sure nobody else does either. He's considered a strategic asset of incalculable value.

"We spent 45 years trying to destabilise America," one senior Iranian official allegedly told Al Jazeera. "This bloke's done more damage in 2 years than our entire revolutionary programme. The man is basically doing our job for free. And badly. Which, in this case, is perfect."

Iranian economists have reportedly modelled the cost-benefit analysis and determined that one Trump presidency is worth approximately 14 nuclear warheads, 6 major cyberattacks, and 200 years of anti-American propaganda. And that was BEFORE he started a war that sent oil to $190 a barrel and handed them the moral high ground on a silver bloody platter.

In a related development, Iran has officially renamed the Strait of Hormuz. It will now be known as "The Straightjacket of Trump." Tehran says the new name better reflects the corridor's current strategic function, which is slowly squeezing the American economy until it loses its mind. A spokesperson added, "The name also honours the mental state of the man who decided to fight a war on top of his own oil supply line."

Meanwhile, Hezbollah has reportedly renamed its internal Trump file from "Great Satan" to "Employee of the Month."

The Ayatollah was asked if he feared Trump's military might.

He laughed for 11 minutes straight, then said, "The man just mass texted a war plan to half of Washington and bombed a country that sells fuel to his own allies. Fear him? We're thinking about sending him a gift basket."

At press time, China, Russia, and North Korea had all issued a rare joint statement asking the US Secret Service to increase Trump's security detail immediately, describing the 79 year old president as "irreplaceable."

Iran is militarily humiliating the US... So much for the vaunted so-called superpower capabilities 😥

I've got to say that if that's the case I hope I'm never resident of a country that militarily humiliates its enemies. Maybe its better to be a resident of the country receiving the humiliation?

Iran may not be able to "defeat" the United States, but it is making it clear that we cannot protect our friends.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

If that's not a definition of military humiliation, I don't know what is...

Quite how the US allowed Iran to destroy an AWACS is, well, staggeringly incompetent. Not to mention the wholesale destruction of billions of dollars of radar assets, bases etc.

The USS Lincoln carrier battlegroup is running so scared of the Iranians, it literally has to HIDE BEHIND THE ENTIRE NATION OF OMAN, FFS! 😱🤯

No, following a moronic paedophile rapist clown as he drives the nation into financial ruin while the world laughs at us is not better.

The US spends $800 billion (now $1 trillion) a year on it's military. Trump is begging for $200 billion more. Iran spends somewhere around $10 to $20 billion. Israel spends $40 billion. We teamed up to sucker punch Iran during negotiations, based on obvious lies. Yet we can't even man our bases in the region after a month, killed a bunch of school girls, an aircraft carrier had to run away either due to being hit or just general incompetence, we had to lift sanctions on Iran, had to get Ukraine to teach us how to fight a modern war, keep begging for a ceasefire that Iran won't give, probably will kill/malnourish 100+ million people, and greatly harm billions, due to the economic fallout of our illegal actions, and our leadership is somehow even more of a clown show than they were a month ago.

The US has become the most expensive **** show in history.

Oh and the USS Gerald Ford literally and figuratively shat its pants and RAN AWAY - setting fire to its tighty-whities in the process...

Two carrier battlegroups, in effect neutralised. 👎

How long can Hegseth and Trump keep this clown show up...? 🤡🍿🙄

It's amazing. The mindboggling thing is that the US literally had *no idea* about drone warfare, no preparation. Just a boatload of hubris and "USA, f**k yeah!". Very dangerous. Shooting down $10k drones with $1m missiles, and surprised when they start to run out of missiles, something quite difficult and technical to manufacture (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, I should know). Then sloppily losing an E-3 AWACS, a $700m piece of kit to another drone. It was just there, in the open, for all to see. That drone operator must've got employee of the month Zelenskyy must've been laughing his arse off at them - if it wasn't so tragic. Take it the yanks still haven't got round to studying drone warfare and Operation Spiderweb. It's all "shock and awe" then "mission accomplished". They're a paper tiger; a pyrotechnic display rather than a disciplined and effective fighting force. We all know now. We thought something was strange with those strange massive battleships Trump was perusing because it just made no sense in the context of modern military doctrine. Probably because they wanted to fit a railgun or something but they couldn't master the technology in the end and had to abandon it...although that said, didn't take the Japanese much effort to make it work

What makes this even more ironic because if they'd actually been nice to the Ukrainians, helped them in their just war against the Russians rather than have this weird daddy complex thing for Putin, then you'd have learnt the truth of modern warfare. But they "didn't have the cards" apparently and Trump would not listen to his experience and wisdom on the matter either. And wow, talk about payback, turns out your forces are woefully unequipped for this. Probably why they were pleading with the Royal Navy to assist who have spent a lot of effort in counter-drone operations and being there every step of the way with Ukrainian advances and innovation (like good allies do). But they couldn't even ask nicely.

This time they are trapped, there's no getting out of this. They can run with their tail between their legs and say "mission accomplished" all they like but it means they lose the Gulf and their entire strategic position in the Middle East evaporates overnight as they will have reneged on their promise to defend them. Cowardy custard yanks - all the gear, no idea. Their only one saving grace might be with expertise lent to the Gulf states by the Ukrainians (and us I suspect), but I think expulsion of the impotent yanks in this region is inevitable, it will be a price expected by a triumphant Iran.

The US used to have a competent command structure. tRump replaced everyone with incompetent yes men.

Likely too late for the US. Oh well, you had 250 years.

What do they put out? Pete Hegseth speaking utter crap and then going all Christian and weird. Even in their propaganda they can't even stop being arrogant and insular and exceptionalist. They're trying to put all that religious crap on us now, or crap about Charlie Kirk, he of the holy neck stigmata. But no one cares, in fact, it makes it less plausible because the US propaganda machine have left their fingerprints all over it. They tell lies about "Islamification", or how London is dangerous, despite the fact all evidence points to the contrary. At least the Russians were smarter at propaganda and subtle. It requires a special type of moron to fall for MAGA propaganda over here.

Funny isn't it. Trump, in copying his hero Putin, copied all of his flaws as well including a supplicating chain of command that wouldn't dare object. And the inevitable result of this? Their very own "special military operation". This is the downfall of every authoritarian regime where the higher ranks of the military just do as they are told without question. Like Russia's attempted invasion. Like Operation Barbarossa.

They never learn. At least we know what their errors are should exploit them.
