Trump has also greenlighted seizure of Russia's shadow fleet of decrepit oil tankers, so higher oil prices aren't going to help Pootie-Poot much.
Also? F*ck you for making me say anything nice about the gold plated orangutan. No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

With Israel's 'Iron Dome' straining, and the Gulf states really not enjoying being attacked, the US might lose some of its friends in the middle east. There have also been two questionable attacks (Cyprus & Turkiye) that really look like poorly executed 'false flag' operations intended to draw in NATO nembers. This would be damning to the US credibility. There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

Yeah... all of his lap dogs are too afraid and don't have the balls to exert the authority given to them by the constitution.Originally posted by My Wife Hates CIV View PostApparently both the House and Senate don't think Trump has overstepped.
But it's no surprise that you think that the votes mean he didn't actually violate the constitution.

Keep on Civin'

I don't think you can invoke article V after initiating hostilities with the "aggressor".Originally posted by Uncle Sparky View PostWith Israel's 'Iron Dome' straining, and the Gulf states really not enjoying being attacked, the US might lose some of its friends in the middle east. This reckless sneak attack on Iran and the seemingly open-ended war campaign that have followed almost certainly should be opposed by congress but thanks to the precedent of some 70 years of presidents actions, opposing it as unconstitutional is probably a non-starter. More attention should be given to how much less precaution against consequences this seems to have. In that regard it makes even 2003 look prudent. You have to look to Putin's all out invasion of Ukraine to find a similar level of recklessness (Maybe Trump did look to it eh?). If this doesn't end much worse off for him having done it then it will be owed to pure luck and Iranian brittleness that pulls his chestnuts from the fire this time, not any level of competent strategic level planning.
