A nice little montage of Democrats and leftist media pundits coping with the realization they can't lie and hide Biden's dementia and feeble state any longer.

They should have been honest and had a real primary election when they had a chance but they all thought they could lie and gaslight. They were doing it all the way up to yesterday; just lying, denying, and gaslighting.

keep in mind that if on the last debate Biden is having one of his good days and the meds put him in the zone as well or better as he was for the state of the union, everyone will be singing a different tune and Biden will coast to victory. I don't see Trump delivering anything better than what he did this time which seemed paradoxically unimaginative yet detached from reality. The problem for Biden of course is that September 10th gives quite a long time for his underlying medical problems to worsen and he's not at an age where it's typical for much of anything to get better even with good treatment available.

And Trump forgets stuff, mixes up peoples names, rambles on meaningless topics, goes on incredible stupid rants, and lies all the time.
But I guess Republicans think that's all OK.

I was unable to watch more than a minute of that debate. It wasn't painful as such, just boring. Biden looked about as low-energy as I have ever seen a human being look, and Trump looked good by comparison but he was still Trump so I wanted to punch his smirky face. I closed the livestream tab when I became convinced I had better uses of my time. I understand at one point they started arguing about golf scores.

And yes, this was a disaster for Joe Biden. See, for example, NATE SILVER's opinion: https://www.natesilver.net/p/joe-biden-should-drop-out

I don't know that Trump is very useful for generalizing anything about Republicans.

I've been acquainted a small circle of republican friends and family my entire life and they are all either never-Trumpers or at least incredulous that he won the nomination. I sometimes wonder if Trump really has a plurality of Republicans or instead has a large chunk of them and an even larger chunk of outsiders he has somehow brought into the party as his insane loyal base with their incomprehensible taste in political candidates. I *do* know several Trump supporters now and they are all previously apolitical or nonvoting republican haters who enthusiastically support Trump over anyone else, believe lots of nut-job crazy crap about large scale evidence of voter fraud which was covered up but which they somehow are still aware of, Q-anon insanity, and various fringe conspiracies. They are a scary bunch. They believe this crap and I think Trump himself believes some of it and some of the rest he cynically avoids contradicting without getting caught actually buying into it but I don't think he lies nearly as much as it looks like he does. A lot of that is misquotes, quotes out of context, the scary detachments from reality that he believes (mostly to protect his fragile ego) and the balance are the real lies of which there is surely far too many but not notably more than other presidents IMHO.

I don't think Trump reveals anything about republicans. I think his success reveals what an idealogically heterogenous, divided and ill-defined group they really are and how ripe they have been for take over by an external messenger/demagogue who can bring in their own loyal base.

Dude. Calling people you don't agree with politically childish names does not reflect good upon you. Quite frankly, it makes it very hard for sane people having an adult discussion to take you seriously. Lay off on the Trump rhetoric.

Yawn, I will call the governor of my state whatever I want especially since he has screwed the people of this state over so hard. Hell, I still remember when he was the mayor of S.F. in 2010 and claimed he would end homelessness there in 10 years. 14 years later drug vagrants are every where, tens of billions (of not more) have been spent, but the problem just became worse and everything they did made everything worse. At least Democrat campaign donors got massive amounts of public funds as kickbacks though so there is that.

Yes you may. And I will treat you as the little spoiled child you are. Enjoy Trump, the epitome of democracy and truthfulness.

Let's see what the Supreme Court has to say about pres. immunity, then Biden can make his move ...

Gee... an old fart who lies about everything, a convicted felon, somebody who keeps wanting revenge, a person who cheats on his wife (multiple wives), still claims he won an election with absolutely no proof, tried to overturn the election, a total narcissist, and completely unhinged vs. an old guy who lies far less and is a tad slow at times and who ALSO can get confused.

                              So no... I don't.

Determining who lies more is increasingly difficult with the available hyperpartisan media and even hyperpartisan academia.
