I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Russia's demographics are terminal without a nuclear war. Putin is desperate to conquer territory and people now because it is his last chance when he still has enough military aged males to even try to pull it off. He is hoping adding in more conquered territories can delay Russia's complete demographic collapse for another half century.
Far from it. In fact, our influence is greatly increasing because of rogue states like Russia. Countries are flocking to the U.S. for collaboration and protection. If anything, our dominance is on the rise. Russia, otoh, is becoming more and more isolated and without China would probably already have collapsed.

Who do you think can replace us? Seriously, look at Demographics. The only country with worse demographics than Russia is China. It is not that you are running out of children, that happened 40 years ago, it is that you are running out of working age adults and there are so few breeding age people left to even produce a next generation.
