The US and Russia and China and frankly almost every country that isn't a basket case tries to influence and meddle in other countries internal affairs. Making puppets of them is *much* more challenging. It can't be done on the cheap. The US couldn't even convert Iraq and Afghanistan into proper allies, let alone puppets. FWIW, I join you in condemning support for the Kosovo and Chechnya, secessions especially any terracts and military interventions to support them. I tolerate some secession movements but I think without a wide spectrum of outside observers to a referendum I don't think they should be granted any legitimacy. You serb, seem to believe the secession of Chechnya was unacceptable but autonomy and eventual secession of Crimea, luhansk, and Donbas was fine. It looks like you have a double standard to explain. I don't.

Further, for the record I always opposed the way yanukovitch was deposed. His opponents needed to wait for the next election like civilized people. There have been multiple fair open elections since then to render the point moot however.

About the terrible war crimes... it's always he said-she said truth and propaganda thoroughly mixed in every ratio. I always wait for the highest standard of evidence and corroboration from impartial observers. That was true in the Balkans, Chechnya, Ukraine, wherever. I am still undecided on the allegations in those places.
