Is it just Serb, or are Russians just nihilistic in general?

Half and half, I'd say. Gloomy fatalism w/ a (delightful, hilarious, IMO) dry sarcasm icing is very much the national character - and obviously, very atypically I think, Serb doesn't do the icing. As far as I can tell, it's nearly impossible to get a Russian -who doesn't like you- angry enough to start in with the "we won WWII all by ourselves without any help" let alone the "we will destroy you". Make friends with one, though, and many do have that sorta thing lurking inside. Serb's just WAY out of normal with how quick he'll start showing his butt that way, to whom, and in pointless persistence.

The NATO planes can't take-off from the Ukrainian airfields because of two reasons:
a) They do not exist any longer.
b) They are not suited for the NATO planes.

if the Ukrainian planes can take off they can be made suitable for picky NATO aircraft

It depends. People who are destitute ultimately won't be billed or are insured by the state and many insurance plans will cover it but definitely people on bad plans will die from trying to avoid the ambulance.
