    • Nice counter-attack in Bakhmut last night. Looks like Ukraine regained 18 sq. kilometers of the city. This looks like it may have undone several weeks of Russian advances in a single attack.

      • I've not read/watched the news yet. Was it a Ukrainian win, a Wagner withdrawal or as per a headline that I saw on my phone that had Prigozhin claiming the regular army were running away?

        • Supposedly it was about 20% Wagner 80% regular army and they ran away as soon as they saw the tanks, AFVs, and rocket artillery deploying. Ukraine has spent the last week using HIMARs to destroy ammo dumps and command and control centers in the area causing most of the ammo shortages Piggy has been complaining about. Moral seems bad on the Russian side if they all just start running the moment the Ukrainian strike force is visible.

          • Brigade sized element (about 800 men) flees before offensive even begins.

            • The claim is that a Ukrainian forces took an area near and in Bakhmut that was 36km wide and 2.6km deep. Not a massive area but certainly the biggest movement by either side in about 8-9 months.

              • Another interesting thing is there were Russian insurgents (or possibly Ukrainian) in Novosibirsk, Serb's home town in western Siberia, who attacked an airfield run by a state owned form which manufactures and upgrades SU-24 aircraft and related military aircraft. They set on fire two SU-24 fighter bombers. Putin has to be worrying because Russian insurgent attacks are growing along with numerous Ukrainian resistance attacks in the occupied territories.

                • Delete that post, before the Russian authorities start to suspect Serb of being an insurgent!

Wouldn't that be something if he was! Using Poly for cover for his fight for freedom. Ha!

                    • I think Serb's implant might have a remote kill switch.

                      • I legitimately feel bad for him. He has such pride in Russia. Such love for it's people. And we (most of us anyway) cheer on the death of his countrymen. Every one of the (probably nearly double) 100,000 KIA is a son, father, grandpa. So Serb, while I want a total Ukraine victory and Russia to pull out of all internationally recognized territory (to include Crimea), I feel for you. As a veteran myself, I very much hate hearing about any dead soldiers.

I so agree with this. I don't cheer the deaths of any of the soldiers, but cheer whenever Russian fascism is pushed back. Individual soldiers from Russia probably couldn't care less about Ukraine...they are just trying to stay alive. I would cheer Putin's hanging at the international court though. There are those that are responsible for such evil and the deaths of others that they do not deserve a place on this Earth. The sad truth though is that for aggression to be successfully confronted then often people must die. In this case I would rather it be Russians than Ukrainians.

The real truth here though is that this is a totally senseless war. No one should be dying. History has given us another power hungry dictator with a desire to steal what is not his,

                          • Feeling they will soon lose the southern part of Ukraine which Russia is currently occupying... Russian forces have massively increased the looting of civilian buildings in the occupied areas.

Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, has reported that Russian servicemen are looting properties in temporarily occupied territories under the pretext of alleged evacuation. Source: Maliar on Telegram Quote: "The number of cases of looting and theft by Russian servicemen has significantly increased in the temporarily occupied territories in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts since the beginning of May, especially on days declared by the occupiers as holidays and weekends.
