Though from a legal point of view - Russia has recognised DPR and LPR as indepenent sates first, then have signed a mutul protection pact and have engaged in fight against Ukraine, because she was attacking DPR and LNR!
From the point of international law everything was just CLEAR!!!

Russian war criminals execute Ukrainian POWs and post it on social media then the Kremlin's propaganda lies and claims it was secretly Ukrainians. A Russian war criminal castrated then murders a Ukrainian POW then Putin's propagandists lies and try to pretend it was the other side. All the evidence uniforms, language spoken, the meta data on the video, where and when it was posted prove it was Russian war crimes yet people like Serb eat up the lies. Watch this video at around the eight minutes mark where you will see illegal Russian missile strikes on civilian apartment blocks (because non moving civilian buildings are all they really can hit) yet Russian state tv tales the footage, lies, and tries to claim it was really a Ukrainian attack on Donboss.
Putin's Russia always lies. That is all they ever do. It is transparently easy to prove they are lying yet some people truly are stupid enough to believe the lies because they desperately want to believe the lies. Deep down I think they know it is all a lie which just makes their justifications for war crimes even worse.
