As of 2015 Ukraine had 6,970,355 people fit for military service (Wikipedia). If they have just been able to mobilize 30% of that, then that is over 2 million troops. I imagine that the British are just the most public about their training. A friend's son who is in the USArmy just got back from Poland and he says that it is crazy busy there. They are building military equipment maintenance and repair facilities like mad and there are Ukrainian troops being trained all around the area. In addition, he says arms are coming in from the U.S. around the clock by airlift.

I think this is the reason that Zelensky sounds so confident. The West is building a NATO army from scratch and my bet is it will be ready for an overwhelming Spring offensive.

That worked in 1944, but today it just means more dead soldiers. Weaponry today is so far beyond what was deployed in WWII that it is not funny. Poorly to no trained cannon fodder will be just that and nothing more. In fact, putting this kind of troop on the frontline may actually increase the likelyhood of a breakthrough.

Lambs to the slaughter. The conscripts are just being sent in with nothing. See https://old.reddit.com/r/ukraine/com...tline_without/ for instance. and there are many many more like that. And the endless videos of dead Russian soldiers, or soldiers getting blown up...Jesus. Russia is so ****ed.

Nice to know that some Russians have common sense. I bet a lot more would if they had the means.

If that bothered Putin I think he would close borders. At least nominally.

            • Closing the borders is coming. They are down to 63 year old privates with diabetes and brain injuries being declared fit for service by army “doctors”.

                  Ask, and ye shall receive!

Russian soldiers have been deployed to the border with Georgia after huge queues of men trying to flee Putin's draft built up, amid reports that 260,000 have fled in just five days.

                  lol
Imagine Georgians' confusion when the Russian army comes to keep Russians out of Georgia.

Sounds like someone is declaring a crusade ...

Russia's top priest made the remarks after officials said up to 300k reservists would be called up to fight in Ukraine.

Sounds more and more like a false prophet. Is there such a thing as excommunication for him?

                  • Also, apparently both Nord Stream 1 and one of Nord Stream 2's pipelines are leaking close to Bornholm. Very suspicious.

I hope among them there is a large percentage of highly educated specialists (like computer scientists or engineers), so that Russia gets further weakened by their absence

                        • Putin seems to be doing a very good job of cleansing Russia of any type of physical or intellectual resistance for the coming Chinese takeover,
