It would do the Yanks some good to spend a bit more time in the Empire. Events of the last 250 years have clearly shown that they were granted home rule long before they were ready for it. Qanon are a tiny fringe conspiracy group who 99% of the people ignore or laugh at because they spout nonsense conspiracy theories based on nonsense. It is pretty telling when left wing nutty conspiracy theorists, who are effectively the same as qanon, come up though so many people in the left embrace it instead of calling it out. I think Biden will end up increasing the tax rate a bit, or at least will try. This will help reduce things. I Think it would be a good achievement if he can end his time at 130%.

Why would he bother with that, when he can just print?

While printing might be the best strategy (and is mostly not in Biden's hands, although for sure he can signal the technocrats his preferences), I think there is a desire among the left to increase taxes. Biden is probably not particularly in favor of that, but I think he would go along with it.

U.K. approach seems to be to raise taxes through not increasing personal allowances. Fiscal drag will hit the lowest incomes the most. Sounds right up the Republicans ally.
