You don't give a damn about Section 230, except you've been told it's something the lame duck Pres wants.
McConnell has found a way to allow YOU to blame the Dems, but the simple fact is that his so-called poison pill bill just exposes (once again) the GOP and Trump bargaining in bad faith in a crisis, holding the nation hostage for their petty, vindictive agenda.

A recently elected US lawmaker has died from Covid-19 - the first member of the US Congress to die from the disease.

Republican Luke Letlow, 41, had been elected as Representative for Louisiana's 5th district and was due to be sworn in on Sunday.

He announced on 18 December that he had tested positive for coronavirus and was admitted to hospital soon afterwards.

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards ordered flags to be flown at half-mast on the day of Letlow's funeral.

"It is with heavy hearts that @FirstLadyOfLA and I offer our condolences to Congressman-elect Luke Letlow's family on his passing after a battle with Covid-19," Mr Edwards tweeted.

Luke Letlow, 41, was due to be sworn in as a Republican Representative for Louisiana on Sunday.

Oh so NOW the Republicans are suddenly interested in compromise?

It's proof positive that Trump doesn't actually care about the $2,000 or about helping struggling Americans.
Like everything else in his world, it's just another sad attempt to contravene the clear will of the vast majority of American voters.

This guy lost both popular votes by a total north of 10 million. If he was a Dem, you'd be laughing him out of office.

Then it would have to pass the House.

Not enough D's and a bunch of R's are against it.
A compromise that includes it will not get passed.
    And McConnell knows that.
And Americans will get screwed again.

Many Ds want to stop platforms from allowing so-called hate speech. A compromise is possible. Indeed that's the only way an amendment will get done.

Typical... it will be on McConnell for throwing out a plan that he knows can't be passed.

As usual, the politicians play their games and Americans get screwed.

Investigations can discredit claims just as they can give credit. Depends on the Investigation. I really don't care about an investigation because I don't trust Congress but I care about Section 230. If the Ds prevent us from getting $2000 checks to protect Big Tech that's on them.

You really think the D's will go along with the fraud investigation? That would just add credibility to Trumps wild ass and unproven claims about how THEY stole the election FROM HIM...
And while I have no evidence or information about how many of the D's would be willing to compromise on 230, based on what has been said in the past, there is hard core bunch that won't support that no matter what. So in my opinion, there is no way they will find enough votes to get that either.

You are the one that sprouts QAnon stuff...
And anybody that thinks the Ds will go along with this is smoking something.
And sorry... McConnell stuck it too Trump and Ds with this one. Trump still has nothing new.

His whole reason for pulling the last minute $2,000 stunt was to make himself look good and to stick it to the Repubs.
And now, he still can claim he tried to do something, which hasn't changed, and the Repubs didn't fall for his stunt.
So nothing new here at all... He wanted the $2,000 checks, and he didn't get them. He can't look like the real hero now.
He didn't want just a compromise that has no chance to pass... he wanted the checks. Another Trump Loss.
