So are Republicans. Nice try to avoid discussing the actual issue of the day -- Trump's attempted coup against America and the democratic will of its people.
Let's focus on what actually happened -- thousands of Trump fans literally storming the Capitol building, basically at Trump's bidding. This was an attempted coup. Amateur and poorly planned, but an attempt all the same. Why did Trump deliberately leave our nation's Capitol insufficiently protected? The Capitol was breached by lawless thugs -- during a joint session of Congress to do their Constitutional duty of verifying the votes of the Electoral College. This was insurrection. It is sedition. It is treason. And we should be demanding the same treatment of these anti-American rebels as Trump demanded against protesters last summer -- 10 years in prison.
The fact that you agree with them does not make it any less of a treasonous act.
What would you be saying if it had been thousands of Blacks or Muslims? How much blood would have been spilled? How many troops would be in place, using what kind military gear? How would that color of Americans be treated if they stormed the Capitol? Because we know what you said about peaceful BLM protests last summer...
