In short Dems are full of crap. They are also exceptionally racist claiming black people are incompetent or inferior.

The real concern of the Democats is exactly what it always has been. Namely, they are upset they cannot comment voter fraud. Sorry, but dead people, people who live out of state, and people who are not citizens should not be allowed to vote as that is all illegal. As it should be.
Backwater states like Texas have all kinds of blatant suppression. What do you think 1 drop box for a county of 3 million is?

Regarding voterID, Really depends on the state and its voter its laws and not “Democrats lying.” GAO study did find voter ID laws suppressed votes in Tennessee and Kansas.

According to this analysis, we found that changes in turnout were larger among registrants who were younger, African-American, or recently registered in our two treatment states, relative to the comparison states pooled, and our analysis suggests that these changes are attributable to the states changes in voter ID laws, because we held other factors constant that could have otherwise affected turnout.

Nobody ever said it's impossible for a black person to get an ID you lying piece of ****. If someone doesn't already have a photo ID, requiring one reduces the probability they will actually vote because of the extra time and money required to get the photo ID. Republicans know that people who don't own cars are less likely to have a license to drive one.

I call it a non-issue as anyone can still mail it and there are literally mail boxes all over town plus everyone could still go to their local polling station or early vote at the county registrars office. You are being even nutter and less rational than usual on this topic.

            • I thought Texas had i) limits to mail-in voting (disability, illness, age) and ii) reduced the number of polling stations.

Either way, I agree with your general point that those who want to vote can. Where I would disagree is that there are disincentives to voting, some benign like bad weather, and these can be played upon. I find it absolutely astounding that so many voters have to line up for hours to get their votes in. Whenever I have voted, schools, church halls, etc are converted to polling stations and I've never been in a line to vote.

              • I have never experienced a line either. I think some states set up voting locations based upon previous voter turn out totals so if one race really catches public attention and suddenly voter turn out spikes higher then that is when lines develop.

Through gerrymandering, which is largely used by GOP, you can design things so the poor people need to travel several miles to an area not serviced by public transport to vote, while the rich voters (more likely to vote GOP) vote at heir neighborhood school or church.

In Canada, distribution of ridings and the location of polling places is done by Elections Canada which is funded by the government, but not a part of the government.

              • Having looked up the law in Texas, yes, mail in voting was only extended to certain groups. That said the definition of who qualifies was pretty broad and included anyone who had a reasonable fear of sickness (such as catching covid if they had a pre-existing condition) meant they would qualify. Also, I really dislike drop boxes especially if they are unattended as that just leaves the door wide open for illegal activities such as ballot harvesting and other forms of fraud.

Of course YOU aren’t going to have a line, but voting is controlled at the local level. That has zero to do with anyone else’s experience. Maybe you missed all the news of people waiting for hours ? Secondly, Texas has historically all kinds of shenanigans with mail in ballots.

On top of that, you missed the attempts by Trump to suppress the post office, since you only watch alt-right news. Mail sorting machines were tossed out and Trump owned himself by attempting to cast doubt on mail in votes.

When people have to stand in line for hours or drive across town, they get discouraged. That is called suppression buddy.

Judge Orlando Garcia, of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, ruled that the existing procedure involving verifying whether a signature on a mail-in ballot matches the one required across the flap of the carrier-envelope “plainly violates certain voters’ constitutional rights.”

And get out of here with calling a GAO report irrational. You’re the one calling for civil war and shooting people and all this Antifa nonsense and still haven’t provided any proof.

My advice to you is to stop getting all your news from Facebook and YouTube and learn to think for yourself instead of letting someone else do all the thinking for you.
