Well, I didn't think it would happen until the 4th quarter but production has been so good Tesla posted $312 million in profit in the 3rd quarter. We can easily look forward to profit doubling in the 4th quarter.

I have noticed several electric car maker start ups are banking on solid state battieries, which would leap frog Tesla's battery technology (of which they are currently the industry leader both in capacity per ounce as well as per unit cost). Even Tusker, an also ran Californian electric automaker now owned by Chinese interests as well as Northern Irish vacuum cleaner company Dyson is making big bets on solid state batteries for electeic cars.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.Comment
