Two more GOP House scandals coming up..
Virginia Republican House member Scott Taylor is said to have directed staffers to forge signatures to have an independent candidate added to the ballot. This was done in the name of perhaps taking votes away from the Democrat. There is a criminal investigation being conducted by state authorities. A judge has since removed the independent candidate from the ballot citing fraud. This district is marked as a swing district (especially now with this scandal)

Iowa House Republican Rod Blum is under a House investigation for ethics violations involving his failure to report his dealings with a company. Now this probablg won't lead to any indictment (and any action wont be declared until December after the midterms) but the district is already trending democrat. This disclosure about this investigation will further push Rod Blum down the polls.

You know, this is beyond the pale. I am stunned that someone could be so cruel, so crass, so full of hate that they would use mental disabilities as a weapon with which to mock and disparage others.
Why, right here on the OT, we have a poster who is so mentally challenged, their mind incapable of processing reality to a point where they...

Never mind. If anybody can use that word here, you can. I'm sorry for yelling, and I hope I didn't cause your caretaker any difficulties. Want to watch Thomas the Train with me?

CNN reports that he was an associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, experienced in Risk Assurances
Dallas police are in the process of obtaining a warrant on manslaughter charges against a police officer who shot and killed a man after entering an apartment she mistakenly thought was her own, police Chief Ulysha Renee Hall said Friday.
I wonder what probability he would have given the risk to get shot and killed in his own appartment, by an off-duty police officer

Considering that she obviously felt threatened, I am sure that the trial against the texan officer will end with a verdict of "not guilty"Tamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."

O.K., according to the article it also happened while she was off duty.
Maybe the "I felt threatened" - jail evasion card for police officers only can be played if you shoot/kill someone on duty
Considering that her victim was a black man, I guess that her trial will be closely observed by the BLM crowds and will draw in lots of protests, if she gets free without sentence

The Spanish really seem to have a problem with amateur restorations.Originally posted by BBCSpain parishioner botches Jesus and Mary statue restoration
A set of 15th Century sculptures have been garishly repainted by a Spanish parishioner in the latest botched amateur restoration attempt to attract derision in the country.
In one of the previously plain wooden statues, Jesus was given a bright green robe while Mary got a bright pink headscarf and eyeliner.
Another statue showed St Peter, now dressed in deep red.
They are in a chapel in a hamlet in northern Spain's Asturias region.
One of the 28 residents of El Ranadoiro, Maria Luisa Menendez, was given permission from the local priest to paint the figurines, local newspaper El Comercio reported.
"I'm not a professional, but I always liked to do it, and the figures really needed to be painted. So I painted them as I could, with the colours that looked good to me, and the neighbours liked it," she told the newspaper, quoted by AFP.

The priest is also an idiot.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

Not all of us Spanish guys are that dumb.
We have a lot of history in our country that must be restored by experts in the field. Not by people with access to paint that belongs in a middle school. For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night.
