And in other news right wing muck racker and convicted felon (for fraud and campaign finance violations) will be pardoned by Trump. Trump seems very concerned with pardon the numerous felons on his side to make sure everyone knows it is ok to break the law if you are a Republican.
Not a peep out of any members of the party who all claim to be "the law and order party". The Republican Party is just openly a criminal enterprise now.
I had hoped his proposed steel and aluminum tariffs were just posturing but he seems to genuinely be clueless about the benefits of free trade and thinks neither the EU nor China will make concessions unless forced to do so.
I doubt other people will negotiate with a gun to their heads though I do agree both the EU and China have been horribly protectionist and abusive to Americans on the trade front. 40 years of asking nicely hasn't gotten them to change nor has 16 years of trying to negotiate free trade agreements so... Maybe it is time to change tact and get tough? Maybe they won't change unless forced to do so?
Ii expect the biggest beneficiary to this instability will be the UK as facing a trans-atlantic trade war the current imperialist sh!t-heels with a stranglehold on EU policy might have to give up on their desire to punish the UK for daring to tell it no and might actually have to agree to a fair free trade deal eith the UK. The UK should hang tough and demand free trade in services as the price for free trade in hoodies. Otherwise the Germans will lose another 20% of their car exports. The US tariffs put German industry in a real tight box and the UK would be smart to exploit that to get the free trade in services that it wants.
Trump wants the EU's 25% tariff on trucks and heavy machinery gone and he also wants the EU to lift bans which block the sale of most US and Canadian agricultural goods in the EU. In an attempt to force the EU into making concessions he is proposing a complete ban on the import of German luxury cars (others propose just a 25% tariff).
This is going to be very disruptive to commerce.
Hell, the biggest beneficiaries would probably be British and Italian luxury brands like Jaguar and Alpha Romeo as those buyers seem unlikely to switch to Cadilliacs or Lincolns. Tesla might be in position to profit if this happens though.
A pro-Trump group linked to Breitbart almost undoubtedly broke campaign finance law when it set up a group to convince black people not to vote. The group did not report any of is finances, which legally it was supposed to do, and after it got caught it was found they received several very large single donations exceeding the legal $2700 per person limit. One donation was actually for $100,000 in a single check from a single person.
So we have yet more evidence of Republican voter suppression efforts as well as blatant breaking of campaign finance laws. How unsurprising.
Important News: Trump met Kim
It is unclear, how talks went, or if they talked about nuclear weapons at all, but they were a welcome photo opportunity for Trump
A lawyer can petition to be allowed to try a case outside of his state. This is called a pro hac vice. Granting such a petition is at the sole discretion of the judge and the judge can put whatever conditions they want on such a petition. Avenatti wanted in on this case to put more pressure on Cohen to gain an advantage in his case going on in California. Avenatti must have decided that the judge's conditions would result in a net minus to his California case.
Avenatti being "morally flexible" has nothing to do with the legal strength of his case. You have to realize that only shady lawyers would touch either side of this. Trump and Cohen are practically radioactive right now and no respectable law firm would ever get involved with a porn star. Guiliani resigned from his law firm and that firm is feverishly trying to distance itself from him and Trump.
Er um, or he just wants to keep making money doing the fake news game.
