It used to be that they would routinely vote to confirm a justice based on their experience. Now? They don't care. So, by comparison even if you showed that there were a difference it would indicate that something in the politics have changed. This is something that's long been observed over the last some, 30 years so you're a little bit late to this party. I could touch on the increasing politicization of the Supreme court starting with justice Warren, but I doubt you have anything to contribute to that discussion so I'm not going to bother with that.

What you seem to forget is the amount of ground that the democrat party has lost since they decided to Bork. They used to dominate the House and the Senate, having controlled both for half a century. 67 would have been a not exceptional number in the 60s and 70s. Now? Democrats have never had more than 60 at any point in some 30 years. The world has changed.

You had 60 from July to August of 2009, and again from the end of September to February of 2010. That was your high water mark.

Also, the word out on Kavanaugh prior to the hearing is identical to what Susan Collins said. This is how the democrats created Clarence Thomas. He's been an implacable enemy for almost 30 years now. Pushing him further to the right by calling him a serial rapist isn't exactly the best move. We'll take a clone of Thomas who's 15 years younger though!

If you make this accusation, maybe you should look at the GOP first.
To be more exactly the nomination of Merrick Garland, who was rejected by the GOP for no reason other than that they wanted to keep the supreme court spot vacant in hope of a victory of Trump (so Trump would later be able to fill the spot with a conservative nominee)

One of the republicans in the judiciary committee, IIRC Grassley, even told the republicans proudly, that he blocks the nomination for no other reason than to keep the spot open for a nomination by Trump.

Lion cub found by jogger in Netherlands

A jogger running through a field in the central Netherlands got a surprise on Sunday when an abandoned lion appeared on the route.

The cub - which is believed to be four months old - was found in a small cage outside of Utrecht.

It was taken to the Lion Foundation in the northern Netherlands after being examined by a vet, according to public broadcaster NOS.

Local police have made a public appeal for information on its owner.

It was certainly not business as usual for a force on patrol in Tienhoven, a village about 10km (6 miles) to Utrecht's north.

On Twitter, they wrote: "This morning, colleagues received a very peculiar report in Tienhoven. Seen or heard anything?"

All of his accusers have mysteriously vanished now that he's no longer running for Senate. Also, Ford has now withdrawn her allegations too.

There's not going to be any investigation. And certainly not one that reveals what the FBI already found. Why? Because Feinstein fought hard against public release of said information. Which to me begs the question, why? It's pretty obvious that the documents contain evidence that the Democrats ginned up this whole circus.

How so? He has a JD from Yale and has served a decade on the appellate court in DC. He's had 14 cases that were brought up to the Supremes and was overruled just once. He's extremely well qualified, moreso than Kagan or Sotomayor at the time of their appointments. Kagan never spent time on an appellate court.

It's so bad the American Bar Association is now re-evaluating his rating because of his temperament.

Interestingly, the ABA has only rated 4 justices below well qualified. Rehnquist, Alito, Scalia and now Kavanaugh. Also strangely none of these were democrats. Odd that.
