  • A Day Without Sharia

What if they marched for that? Or did they?

Police arrested prominent Palestinian-American activist Linda Sarsour for disorderly conduct on Wednesday during a demonstration in New York City.

We have some Sharia lite, for example many parents are complaining that their children are being taught to write "a day in the life of a Muslim teenager" papers. The whole deal with Islamaphobia is Sharia lite. People are not allowed to criticize Islam.

But I was really making a play on words because a leader of the feminist movement supports Sharia law, and I'm not really talking about Sharia lite in that case.

What would a writing exercise about trying to understand being a part of a heavily discriminated against minority in the US have to do with sharia law? You seem to be equating 'anything that isn't hostile towards Muslims' with 'OMG Sharia Law!!'.

As for not being able to criticize Islam, have you actually read or watched a single right wing newspaper or TV show in the last 15-20 years?

First let me say that you COEXIST people are actually religionists and you should not be allowed to promote your religion in public schools anymore than I should. Religious freedom doesn't mean believing that all religions are good. It means that your right to practice your religion is protected.

Second, funny that you claim that Muslim's are "heavily discriminated against" and students are not required to write a "day in the life of a Christian team." paper.

Finally, it is only a subset of the right that criticize Islam, and this is because of Sharia light.

Advocating for peaceful coexistence is a religion?

Gee, I've never heard you whine about schools that teach Creationism. That sure as hell is promoting a religion. Do you think that students should be forced to learn Creationism?

Yeah... Muslim's get beat up but at least they don't have to write silly Christian papers...

WTF are you talking about... You have hated and criticized Islam, and that was long before you stole the term Sharia light from some BS site you visit

So how exactly are Muslim's rights to practice their religion being protected, if you're against them even being allowed to coexist with other Americans?

The vast majority of American students ARE Christian. What would you learn from writing a paper about living a day in your own life?

As for heavily discriminated against, yes when one of the worst accusations people can think of to throw at a Presidential candidate is 'He's actually a Muslim!!', then yes, Muslims are discriminated against. Would you be ok with 'Obama is actually a secret Jew!!'?

Only a subset of the right? Hahaha, you're funny. Even most of the left criticize Islam, even if only unknowingly. When cons were accusing Obama of being a Muslim, the logical response would have been 'Well he isn't, but so what if he was?'. Instead most of them were tripping over themselves to refute it in every way possible.

Typical semantics game. Not allowing them to promote their religion in public schools is not genocide. That said, I'm for reform of Islam and Muslim assimilation.

False. The majority of students do not have adequate knowledge of Christianity. It is not surprising that you think that they do though.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to know what a candidate believes. He may, for example, send hundreds of millions of tax dollars to terrorist sponsors.

Come on Kid... answer the question... What's your opinion on teaching Creationism in public schools? I've never seen you whine about that... and that's one religion trying to cram their silly beliefs down people's throats...

Given that church and state are clearly seperated in your consitution, NO religion should be promoted in school. However in this case, they weren't promoting religion, they were trying to get kids to gain a perspective about how a minority group experiences America and the difficulties they face that students probably wouldn't otherwise even think of. You should probably take that course yourself.

Don't be stupid, America is overwhelmingly Christian. What counts as an 'adequate' knowledge of Christianity is utterly subjective and you're certainly in no position to judge on the matter.

Thank you for proving my point. So because an American might be a Muslim, that immediately means everyone should suspect them of being a terrorist. How very typical of you.

Typical nonsense Kid response. He's afraid to answer the real question so he just throws out something that doesn't even make sense.
