For it to come off as irony, it would have to look sufficiently different than everything else you post. Maybe everything you post is ironic in your head ... but you have to accept if you always act one way, that's how you will be viewed.

Any death threat against the president has always been a crime. Though saying "I've thought about it ..." may not qualify. (I'm not sure. Technically, anyone who read that has thought about it. Except maybe some of us.)

It's an interesting problem. The main issue I think is the media point. News is now so politicised that where a person gets their news from either defines or overly-reinforces their world view. Combined with general sensationalism in the news, and the immense opportunism with fake news, it's hard to even agree about simple factual matters. Even the fact checkers are either tainted, or targeted by fake news to get people to not trust them.

I think the only "solution" (in regards to a single entity trying to address it) is to be better at sensationalism and misleading people than anyone else. And it's not really an ethical solution even if you were trying to "mislead" and "shock" people to the truth.

The real solution is for people to expand their horizons and get as much information as they can from varied sources, then be able to admit when they aren't sure. But that of course is never going to happen ...

I think the best thing to do is keep exposing people who go full ****** like so many are today. It's true that there are probably many sane people protesting, but the fact is that republicans mostly don't do that, which is good because it's not good. Those people are scary. They are the real people that every sane person knows needs to be locked up.

It does qualify when you're speaking to a crowd of protestors.

I'll wait and see what the real cops, real lawyers, and actual judges, say. (If this case should ever become an actual case and come to court.)
