The Republicans are in power (congress and president). So expect huge fiscal stimulus.

It might be enough, initially, to offset the harm he does in trade/etc.

this, i'm sorry to say, appears rather unlikely to happen. looking at some left-wing sites today and the articles are not 'my goodness, we couldn't beat trump! we need to embark on a serious period of reflection about our ideas and message to win back those people who no longer trust us' but rather 'donald trump is terrible person and all you people who voted for him are terrible, too, and should feel ashamed of yourselves [1,000 words of torturous liberal guilt tripping]'.

the left still does not seem to understand that screaming 'racist!' 'fascist!' 'homophobe!' at half the population because they disagree with their views is not a viable strategy.

We just need to get an inspiring candidate who fires up our own base. Just that simple. Turnout was bad for both parties this time.

Incompetence will prevent him from even accomplishing a quarter of what he promised.

The left has Smugs and the right has Deplorables, and many people find Smugs to be worse than Deplorables.

gian, considering that all your predictions about this election turned out to be utterly wrong, perhaps you might consider a bit of a rethink? OK, who i am kidding, but i, for one, am not going to take your predictions on this issue seriously.

My secret hope is Trump becomes so upset with the traditional Republicans that he abandons the party mid-term and finishes as an Independent.

Cockney, and I'm not going to take anything you say seriously. I will just stop here as Ming has already warned me not to pursue this. Watch your tone.

                      • my point, which is inarguable, is that the predictions about trump so far have turned out to be wrong; therefore, all the people saying 'trump certainly will/won't do this or that' should take that into account.

                        • And you don't know what he will or could do as President. And if he does anything to inflame those who oppose him, the GOP is toast. He will have to show restraint.

you can do as you please. but i'm not the one who spent several hundred posts in the other thread making hilariously wrong predictions, smugly telling everyone how the latino wave was going to destroy trump and shouting and swearing at anyone who questioned your opinions or 'expertise'.
