  • Hillary Clinton, the Goldwater Girls and Margaret Sanger

Many people like to complain about Donald Trump being racist but they may not be aware that Hillary Clinton is racist as well. Hillary was a Goldwater Girl. The Goldwater Girl organization opposed the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Hillary was a member of an organization that opposed equal rights for black Americans, And she had the gall to say that she is proud to have been a Goldwater Girl.

Also, Magaret Sanger said these following words: "Colored people are like human weeds and need to be exterminated". Hillary said these following words about Sanger: "I admire Margaret Sanger enormously, her courage, her tenacity, her vision". Hillary admires a woman who said that black people should be destroyed. That is disgusting.

Cool story bro, shame she never actually said that.

Yet there appears to be a grain of truth; from your link:

Birth Control is not contraception indiscriminately and thoughtlessly practiced. It means the release and cultivation of the better racial elements in our society, and the gradual suppression, elimination and eventual extirpation of defective stocks — those human weeds which threaten the blooming of the finest flowers of American civilization.

Granted, eugenics was more..."respectable" at the time.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Sanger was a well known eugenicist who saw black people as 'human weeds', and believed that abortion was a tool to make sure only the right people had children. The abortion rates are pretty stark, black women abort at about twice the rate of white folks.

                  No, she didn't.

Sanger "was far ahead of her times in terms of opposing racial segregation," wrote Baker, a history professor at Goucher College, in an email. She worked closely with black leaders to open birth control clinics in Harlem and elsewhere."

Even authors who treat Sanger critically don’t believe she held negative views about African-Americans. Edwin Black wrote a comprehensive history of the eugenics movement, War Against the Weak, and is no fan of the activist’s beliefs. Ultimately, though, he writes, "Sanger was no racist. Nor was she anti-Semitic."

Why would I be banned for stating a fact? I actually understated it. The rates are about 10 per 1k for white women and 34 per 1k for black women.

At one point, in 1934, she even crafted a proposed law that included this provision: “Feeble-minded persons, habitual congenital criminals, those afflicted with inheritable disease, and others found biologically unfit by authorities qualified judge should be sterilized or, in cases of doubt, should be so isolated as to prevent the perpetuation of their afflictions by breeding.” Sanger said she wanted “to give certain dysgenic groups in our population their choice of segregation or sterilization,” which some have interpreted as a reference to concentration camps.
                      From the Washington Post.

Sanger was a massive supporter of eugenics.

Look, it's difficult to admire someone from the past without admiring someone who had terrible opinions/did terrible things. The founding fathers supported/tacitly approved of slavery. Great generals from history were usually butchers. Einstein bribed his first wife into divorce with money he didn't have. Et cetera. Can't we all just take as given that when we say, "Person A did cool thing X," we're only talking about X?
