  • Tougher trade agreements which outlaw currency manipulation by the state and requiring some sort of labor and environmental standards would be a step forward but I don't see Trump or anyone else making that happen. Tax cuts for tge purpose of tax cuts is not a good idea if it means increasing the deficit or cutting basic services. In short, I don't think he has really propsed anything meaningful or concrete and further more I don't think the guy actually wants to win because then he would actually have to govern.

Tge latest polls are showing greens at 4% and libertarians at 8.6%. One more point and the greens cross the magic 5% barrier where federal election funds will be made available for them next election.

I don't support a lot of Stein's more far out positions but it would be a good thing for democracy if our two party system became a fpur party system because then politicians and parties would have to become a whole lot more reaponsive to the will of the people.
Except the Greens are still scoring in the margin of error and there is undoubtedly unification occurring behind Hillary. The LP may serve more as another Ross Perot I think.

And how would our two party system become a four party system? Show me Congressional candidates from either the Greens or LP leading the two major parties. You can't.

His viewpoints are recycled stupidity and would slide this nation back into recession. His speech on economics was a muddled mess of generalities and a lack of specifics. People bought the sideshow for a while, but now are mostly looking at him as a fool.

Trump has made blunder after blunder. Even when Hillary made one off key remark about her emails, he screwed up his response. Now that disastrous economic speech may be more damaging to him than anything.

I don't think the guy wants to be President anymore, and all but his core supporters are ditching him. It is so bad 50 key republicans penned a paper condemning him harshly. Thosr within his party aren't even afraid to criticize the guy anymore and say they refuse to support him. He just doesn't have any momentum.

Here is an article on why Hillary's campaign while not super exciting, is actually connecting with voters. She actually talks about how she will create jobs. That is something Trump has failed miserably at.

        • This is that damning letter. The GOP is bursting apart. No wonder why the LP has almost 9% in polling.

            There you have it folks.

At this point I would have Trump arrested for sedition.

            • I doubt you really want him arrested and removed from the ticket. Almost anybody the repugs would put up to replace him would have a much better chance of beating Hillary.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

True. Keep him on there, then arrest him after election. But I doubt any of the others would at this point. The damage is already done and none of the other crap they have would win.

                • Perhaps not, but their chances of keeping the Senate would surely improve.

                      We'll see.

After the whole insults towards the Khan family, Trump is just a gift that keeps on giving. He's a walking blunder at this point and it really is damaging him badly. Before he got away with everything, but now it seems people are starting to get the seriousness of the situation.

He's literally collapsing in all the polls. I think people are finally getting it. Even quite a few republicans have now stated they will support Hillary. This is like a scene out of the twilight zone.

And still spouting because he got owned.

I am stating fact. If you don't like that, not my problem. Most polls have margin of errors of 3-4% and the Greens fall in that.

And no definitely not a cheerleader. Someone who loves ****ing facts.

                          • Fez, the idea of you owning someone is growing increasingly hilarious the more you post. I'm starting to think Ben could make you look dumb, and that's about the most cutting indictment of a person we have.

We've just been talking about the possibility of third parties breaking through the two party monopoly. Now you could have made any number of refutions of that idea (hell I have plenty of reservations myself that it could happen in the foreseeable future), but instead you've just repeatedly gone 'Maybe the LP, but not the Greens because *fap fap* Hillary is SOOOOOO popular *fap fap* and her numbers are SOOOOOO huge and all the Dems love her *fap fap*.

That might make you super popular at Democratic Underground these days, but here it just makes you look like a retarded Hillary cheerleader. Oh and spare me the 'I prefer Biden!', 'I'm not even a Dem!' crap because I'm bored of hearing your bull****.

                            • I was going to make some big reply, but this is all I could think of posting. In fact, if he replies to me I'll repost the image over and over to every reply he makes.

He's only interested in making personal attacks and I'm not going down that road again.

I look at the facts, data, trends and Trump's big mouth. That's all.

BTW, I did credit the Libertarian Party as having a shot... mostly at the republican party's expense. Good for them. The Green Party is indeed in the margin of error, and remains to be seen if they will be a force. And it doesn't look likely.

Pro-Bernie HuffPro doesn't seem to like Stein that much or the party. They say it's a disorganized mess. If you don't like that, take it up with Pro-Bernie HuffPro.

                              • Well Trump has now officially crashed and burned. Clinton might even hit 400 EVs and make BK right (the best way of showing how hard it is for it to happen is she would be projected to win South Carolina if she hit's 400 EVs). Trump doesn't understand that a multi-way primary is different than a two-way race and is using the same strategy (in the primary he took and early lead using tweets & stuff and the others weren't able to catch up because they didn't drop in time and voters were very hostile to the idea of the establishment parachuting someone else in. This doesn't work for two-way race where the goal is to get 50%+1 so you want as wide a net as possible). If he knew what he is doing he would have pivoted just fine (remember he even took the lead briefly) because voters have a memory of a goldfish and don't take what anyone says in the primaries seriously anymore.

Trump could still technically win if something happens (like a massive ISIS attack on Nov 1st) but we will cross that bridge then if that happens.

DEMs will likely take the Senate now but will probably fail to take the House. They will blame gerrymandering but the real cause is that them smashing it with minorities so they can get away with 36% of the white vote doesn't work for the House. They have to win the median district which would be very white--not the median voter. Each representative is supposed to represent their community and the GOP still has more of them because blacks, latinos and yuppies tend to cluster together harshly.
