      Even better:
The state stays independent from any religious influence.

And rather does that what is best for the majority of its citizens.
Including offering homosexual marriages and not only heterosexual ones

Ergo, you're going to have to find another argument, Ming.
Yet another straw man on your part since gay marriage IS LEGAL IN THIS COUNTRY. You are the one that has to find another argument.
Other religions should be allowed to perform gay marriages since it is LEGAL.
You are the one that wants to deny them their right of religious freedoms. You keep whining for religious freedom yet only for your religion.

Oh, I see. So when a plane is hijacked and flown into the World Trade Centre in the name of Allah, we are supposed to conclude that all religions are equal? No, they are not, Ming.

3000 American lives on American soil say otherwise.
Oh I see... when thousands of children get raped by Catholic priests, and then the CHURCH COVERED IT UP TO SAVE FACE, we are supposed to conclude that all religions are equal?

You want to blame all Muslims for 9/11, then you should blame all Catholics for every child raped and then covered up.

Children can and do have a right to both their parents, mother and father. State protection for marriage between one man and one woman protects the children involved. Sadly most people believe that love cannot exist without marriage, but what they don't understand is that there is a great value in parents staying together and raising their children.
Divorce is legal in this country... Many children don't have the their parents because of it. Yes, there is a great value in parents staying together and raising their children... but that has NOTHING TO DO WITH GAYS GETTING MARRIED. The state and other religions allow divorce. It's legal in this country and other religions allow it. They deserve their religious freedom as well.

Tell that to a child who's needs come dead last in this social experiment. What are you going to say, that they are a bigot for being unhappy?
Nice try... you are the bigot.
Gay Marriages are Legal in this country
Divorces are legal in this country

Yes... children are hurt in divorces. and yes, children are hurt when Priests rape them and nothing is done about it because the Catholic church wanted to save face. Life isn't perfect.
        Keep on Civin'
RIP rah, Tony Bogey & Baron O

Children don't have rights. Parents have rights. People have rights, to divorce and to raise their kids. That means both men and women. I'll tell you the same thing I tell everyone who is against equal rights for adults, children grow up to be adults. You can't be for children and not be for adults. You can't be for boys and not be for men.

We dont have religious freedom in this country (as you pointed out), but the only restrictions that are permissible stem from the grant of powers to Congress. So if my religion compels me to oppose paying taxes to support a war I'm outta luck, the politicians have the power to tax. Congress doesn't have any power granted by the Constitution to ban polygamy (or gay marriage), but you want Congress to have that power while telling us you believe in religious freedom and the Constitution.

children have the same rights as everyone else, the bill of rights doesn't mention adults or children, just people

Of course it doesn't mention children. Do you want children to bare arms? How about doing crack cocaine?

Funnily enough, the main arguments against polygamy are on tax grounds.

Nobody cares about the rights of polygamists because people believe it's immoral. I happen to believe gay marriage is immoral and I don't particularly care about gays getting married. But divorce is only viewed as immoral by a minority of catholics. It says much more that he wants to ban divorce.

                            • He knows me better than you do, he knows me when I stuck up for him plenty of times and was there for him when plenty of his "friends" were not. It's a lonely life, rah. I have made my position clear and he knows where I stand and why. He's known me from before I was a Christian, and we've had this conversation many times from both sides of the aisle.

In short while you were busy marching and telling him how he should feel, I was there for him and actually listening to him. You're like many people he knows who have treated him the same way. Telling him what he should or should not believe. It opens your eyes pretty quick.

I've had black friends that are the same way. And they have seen me on Poly. Maria sees you as the little dude in the corner that got picked on all your life that enjoys the popularity of being associated with a 'movement'.

More made up BK BS. Next you'll be making up a DL called MARIA.
No one here believes you so don't even try.

I've listened to my GAY FRIENDS also and guess what? I actually support them and their happiness. I attended their weddings.
I've never had to explain to them that I think what they are is abominable. Did you ever think that your friend is being a better friend than you by telling you that he's ok with you disapproval? You are not a real friend.

I hope some day you have a child who is gay. What will you tell them when they invite you to their wedding.
I'm sure you'll come back here and post that you were there for them and they understood that you didn't believe they should have basic rights.

                              You're pathetic.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

They don't know about fashion, pop culture, etc. They are, however, capable of playing well with others, introducing themselves, making friends, sharing, bonding, and things like that. There's a rather large difference. If my sons don't get accustomed to flailing at a handheld electronic device six hours a day, begging for whatever plastic crap the TV commercials are shilling, and accepting essentially decadent modes of sexual behavior as not only acceptable but admirable . . . I'm okay with that.

I have some ambivalence about homeschooling my kids because, yes, some homeschoolers are frankly whacko, and the homeschool circles sometimes center around an evangelical protestant sensibility I want no part of. But at this point . . . ehhhh. The bleeding edge of progressivism in the US has gone completely insane. The crazy rubbish coming out of colleges these days is no better than fundamentalism IMO. But by the time my younger son hits grade school, all the new teachers in all the school systems will be graduates of those same colleges. If we homeschool, we can tailor the material to avoid Francis Schaeffer lunatic-fringe crap. If we go public, we cannot reasonably hope to avoid our kids being in the care of people who sincerely believe in rape culture, heteronormativity, microaggression, various forms of race-baiting militancy, and whatever rubbish the left will be pushing once transgendered is played out and they need a new type of obscure social deviance to distract from the country's eight thousand more urgent problems. I used to be what was called mildly progressive. I don't know who moved which way--probably both of us did--but we're not in the same place anymore.

EDIT: posted before you added in the second link, which seems somewhat more nuanced.
I think homeschooling is good. Don't let other people tell you that you are doing something wrong.
