Does the UK have that problem with regard to the EU?
Texas probably ranks second in taxes paid to the federal government, given that Texas ranks second in population.

Tax collection falls drastically after a disuption. They could raise taxes but that would really kill excitement over their new freedom.

According to Wiki, New York is subsidising Texas and California.

Nope ... the referendum was informal in nature ... the british parliament can follow through with the Brexit, based on the Referendum, but the referendum is not legal binding to the parliament.

And actually many people currently hope that the parliament will say "No" to Brexit, despite the Referendum

                  • It doesn't matter...

It's a question of democratic principles and also blood on the arena ropes (you know panem et circenses).

You can't just say: hehe, I was wrong and go tail between legs and also I'm not a democracy anymore.

                        • But yeah sure, I'll make a try

The US hegemony is assured through NATO.

If Europe and Russia have good relations US has no place in europe.

That's why dinner bastards are flaming the fans. (russians are subhumans etc you know the basic anglosaxon/bastard yankee propaganda)

The UK is the most anti-russian (non negligable) power there is because it's been manhandled by the US for decades.

A re-approachement between Europe and Russia can be done more easily with the UK out of the way, which in turn will precipitate the exit of the US from europe and all its neoliberal agenda with it

                            • Now what's great it's that the UK has shot itself on the foot!!!

It can't retract (don't believe in fairy tales) and the course is more or less assured.

Either the UK gets damaged (and it will be, big time) or the EU is gripped by recessionist movements all over.

US will try to step in through NATO but it won't be able to do it because there is no cold war anymore and its propaganda towards russia isn't working.

A europe with fragmented identity will try first and foremost to save itself and it will become abudantly clear that it needs a change of direction in many fronts...

All this will become infinitively easier if trump is elected

                              so please...

If we wanted hegemony we would have made Greece a US territory.
