When I, at least, call him a crypto-fascist, I don't just mean that he's virulently nationalist and xenophobic, but that his movement is heavily tinged with a fascist mentality. Most significantly, he has the fascist's complete and joyful contempt for respectability, and so do the bulk of his followers. They cheer for him not because they agree with what he is saying (though they often do), but because the things he says are grossly offensive and improper, and he says them anyway, and powerful cultural figures are not only incapable of stopping him, but forced to pay attention and document it. At his events, he keeps the media in a little cage and repeatedly addresses them in degrading and vicious terms, and the smarmy little smartypants college-grad liberal ******s still come and take it every time. If he can do that, he can say basically anything that is not directly offensive to his followers' most cherished personal values--e.g.., no "Iraq war veterans are stupid losers"--and still get a cheer.

Looks like the FBI is ready to indict Hillary unless Tom Delay is making stuff up. This race could be Sanders vs. Cruz.

I would not even call Trump xenophobic as he clearly does not have a problem with all foreigners (he has married two foreigners, remember). He clearly dislikes illegal aliens from Mexico and he clearly does not want muslim immigration but, again, that does not make him generally xenophobic as it depends on his motivations which I will not even try to speculate on. There very well could be legit objections due to feelings of fairness or law and order or even just cultural compatibility. He is certainly an authoritarian and would make a poor leader but then again, he is a politician, soaybe he is just posturing for the Republican primary electorate and telling them what they want to hear.

If it was anyone but Fox News involved, Fox News would be covering this by saying the Fox v. Trump feud is a false flag operation to reinforce Trump's antiestablishment credentials and alpha-male status.

Breitbart is covering it like that.

The best thing about the X-Files revival has been how they've shown nutcase media as having become far more paranoid than the X-Files ever were in the 90s.

A colleague of mine has this idea that Trump was not really running for a presidential nominee to begin with. His argument is that it started out as a publicity stunt for his TV-show and personal brand and then it all kind of got out of hand. At first I thought the idea was preposterous but...

One of my old college friends on FB is a radical leftist; he posted a pic of a sheet of paper, scissors, and a rock, labeled Sanders, Clinton and Trump respectively. I don't know if it's correct, but it's an interesting, terrifying idea. In this alliance-shattering election, it might be better to have outsider cred--while showing impeccable personal integrity--to throw against Trump than to go with Hillary, who is easily presented as the congealed essence of everything that's wrong with the system.

Trump: GOP will become 'worker's party' under me

A nationalist worker’s party led by a charismatic belligerent worshipped by his base as a national savior? That has excellent plan written all over it.
