Germany shocked by Cologne New Year gang assaults on women

It's hard to find information on this except from feminist or nationalist sources, but this seems to be a sort of terrorism that has already been happening in the Arab world. The goal is not just sexual gratification or drunk fun. It is to punish women for going out in public without a man. It's disturbing that there isn't more discussion about this in the mainstream. What about in Germany?

I'm surprised its still a big problem with balls getting a lot lighter over the last couple of decades. Heading does sometimes hurt like a mother****er though. If the evidence shows it to be damaging long term though, I'd expect the European countries to be on that faster than the US, as worker and child protection rights tend to be much stronger over here.

To be honest though, even if headers were removed from the game (crazy as that sounds) it wouldn't completely **** the sport, although it would certainly make defending more interesting and probably lead to a lot more goals.

In resolving a class-action lawsuit regarding the large number of concussions in the sport, the U.S. Soccer Federation has issued new guidelines either banning or limiting players heading the ball depending on their age. Children 10 years or under will no longer be allowed to head the ball in practice or games, while players ages 11 to 13 will only be allowed to do it during practice, not games.

It's not really hard to find information about incidents like this. There was a huge media ****storm a few years back when it happened in Egypt (IIRC) and a female US reporter was sexually abused. You're probably right about it being a power trip/social conservative kind of issue rather than anything to do with sexual gratification, although with quite how repressive those societies are towards unmarried sex in general it's hard to say for certain.

The difference is that we are talking about women being attacked by gangs of foreigners for the purpose of terrorising them into not going out in public. You should watch some videos of Muslim gangs doing this on the internet so that you can get an understanding of how horrified these women were.
