i challenged him about this in another thread and he promised to back it up, made (a verbal) reference to a thread on another site and then, astonishingly, ran away. so, i wouldn't hold your breath.Originally posted by Bugs ****ing Bunny View PostSource?"The Christian way has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found to be hard and left untried" - GK Chesterton.

Equivocation; it's in the nature of Judaism that the term applies to a race as well as a religion. Indeed as I understand Judaism the religion itself is primarily centered on living in community as a part of the Jewish people. What Ellestar said may be hateful, simplistic and inaccurate, but not racist. Indeed, people say similarly hateful things about Christians--or atheists--maybe once a month. And less extreme things along the same general lines much more frequently.Originally posted by kentonio View PostNope.
How about we change the word Muslim for the word Jew?
If the demonization of a way of thinking is racist, every single person on here is a racist.
EDIT: Perhaps not about Christians in general, come to think of it. But I'm confident that such things are routine for fundamentalist Christians. You'd know better than I about what people say against atheists.

I am not terribly well-informed on this subject, as you can tell. I was not under any impression that Lebanon and Syria were theocracies, but I do think there is a significant difference between tolerance of somebody else's variant on monotheism and tolerance for the aggressively non-Muslim realities of modern Europe or America. Certainly there would be a shock if they came to America (though I would not recommend mass immigration of Middle Eastern Muslims to our heavily armed and hair-trigger republic, for public safety reasons).Originally posted by Bereta_Eder View PostLebanon and Syria were bastions of freedom of religion with muslims and christians living side by side fully practising their religion with respect for each other for huge periods of time.
Then something changed.
Namely the modern nazis of our time wanted to bring freedom to saddam.
Comparing GWB et al to Nazis is more than a bit strong, however. It's still not totally clear to me why we invaded, but it certainly wasn't with any goal of ethnic extermination or permanent annexation. I imagine it was some blend of pressure from groups eager to war-profiteer and a sincere, but deeply naive, wish to transform the region by imposing Western values. There is a more sinister interpretation--that they deliberately unleashed hell by destabilizing the keystone of the region--but I consider that a little too cartoonishly super-villain in the absence of strong evidence.

Sometimes I exagerate a tiny bit but it gets the message across.
By the way you talk about "mooslims" being in danger in your trigger happy society, I don't know wether to laugh or cry.
There are muslim women walking their kids, them playing ball right on my way to work. And all sorts of kids.
Somehow the thought of them "being in danger in our trigger happy society" never entered my mind.

Hey Oerdin, they are all just trolling you.Originally posted by Dinner View PostYeah, **** you. Reality never matters to the utopians and they always think anyone who points out flaws is an evil, evil, racist when in reality they are just realists. You hode in Brazil from the truth of the muslim rape gangs and you have no standing to speak. The average EuropeN tax payer really does not want to pay for millions of lazy, unproductive, and inemployable mideast migrsnts who are unwilling to work. That is not racism; that is reality.
