Well, i guess it makes sense, if it was being hidden for so long, now comes the overcompensation in the different direction, so it looks like a big sudden wave of information about it from basically nowhere.

Nevertheless AFAIK she isn´t planning to take part in the next elections but rather looks for (and prepares) a successor to her
        So basically she loses nothing?

At least he doesn't say as many outlandish things as you do though. In the last few weeks tou have claimed the Baltic states have been completely destroyed by market based economic reforms (reality: they are doing much better than most of Europe and on a sustainable path for growth), that the US is some how a 3rd world country (if you want we can compare the US to Greece, you will not like the results), and expressed a belief that if Greece gets kicked out of the Euro for failing to pay its bills or live up to its obligations then some how the whole EU will be destroyed. Now, THAT is la-la-land stuff.
Well, their economy is not really healthy with so many people of a working age leaving to work in richer EU countries. And Baltic states weren't a big countries to begin with. It looks ok now, but it's not really sustainable in the long run. If anything, because of demographics alone, with so many young adults leaving the country to work elsewhere.

        • What has happened in Latvia and the other baltics countries (btw I'm responding but I also don't like your attitude towards muslims - don't be the russian dinner) is unprecendended. 10% has left. That's huge.

Greece has 300.000 people leaving to work abroad out of a population of 11 million (13 million if you count immigrants)

          And brains?
Brains always left if they wanted to do something really really big. They are welcome.

My reform for one would be, if you're leaving Greece to work abroad, fair winds.

But, you'll have to actually pay for all that free university education you received because you're not paying society a divident.

Well, if you think i'm wrong about the fact that noone is using a lone female spies, can you please give me such examples? Like, some scandal with female spies caught? Other than Mata Hari, i guess. But that's one in 100 years.

            • Actually the neoliberalist program was so brutal and private companies were given so much free reign, citizen safety was so far behind that people started getting killed from collapsed structures of all things

Latvian rescuers search for survivors in the rubble of a supermarket in the capital Riga which collapsed on Thursday, killing at least 51.

The article I linked from the fellow professor in Riga explains why this was allowed to go through
It is a **** up of major proportions and the poor fools thing they can replicate it.

It's an off shot weird occurence that destroyed their countries

And their PM was "rewarded" by becoming vice president of the EU???

Oh man, they have lots of things coming

You think we don't have migrants? We have a lot of them, but most of our migrants are actually working

As Europe questions how to cope with an influx of refugees from Syria and American presidential candidates debate the role of Central American...

Most likely we have more working migrants than any other country in Europe.

However, i see absolutely no reason to allow freeloaders in a country. We actually have a very specific word for it - "тунеядец", which had a very negative connotation in Soviet Union, closest translation will probably be "parasite" (of a society). I'm not against muslims, i'm against allowing parasites in the country. Even if it's a different country.

                • Yeah but they are not parasites.

Germany is shutting down employment centers simply because they have very low unemployment and huge surpluses (this will all be payed european wide, in time, if things don't change but they are).

Most immigrants do work and they work hard.

                  • Of course after the americans bloodbathed Iraq and thus led to the creation of ISIS which in turn ****ed up Syria the mass exodus of people from there is indeed posing an existential threat for the EU.

People who say Greece should guard its borders better are simply nazis because water borders cannot be guarded that way.

What they are really saying is "sink the boats, kill the mothers and their children"

                    good luck on that.

better start sanctions against the US untill it takes the whole lot of the human misery it created. That will have more chances of actually succeding

Maybe you need more migrants in Greece.

                      • I read an account of a british girl in bbc about cologne.

It was absolutely hell. Kind of reminds me of certain parts of athens in 2011 (albeit much much worse in Cologne, no comparison)
Immigrants are using Greece as a transit and there is no way to stop someone who wants to go somewhere.
Syrians try 40 and 50 times, and at the end they succeed to get to Sweden or Germany.

Actually Greece has returned to being cute safe and humane compared to what it was when a large influx of people actually stayed here.
And that's merkel's mistake if there is one in this matter. Too many, in too little time. But maybe there wasn't any other option.
In that aspect she was "brave", all things considered.

North africa, marroco and algeria (for some reason) produce this phainomena in western countries. I don't know why but it just happens that way.
(still the most hard core mafias come from non muslim countries, albania and georgia are particularly prolific and all muslim countries don't hold a candle to them. albania is not really muslim. pretty secularized thanks to communism)

Maybe Europe can have one big commie revolution to deal with the Muslims.

(restraining the tired and obvious quibble about racism)

I would say they are unlikely to assimilate because, much as people like to think of Middle Eastern Muslims as essentially ordinary decent folk (and generally they are, I'm sure), and much as the bulk of them are interested in Western economic opportunity, there are certain irreconcilable differences between their culture and ours. Not to put too fine a point on it, but we tend to exalt most of the things they loathe.

I'm sure the average Syrian would be thrilled with freedom of religion in the sense of not being beaten or harassed if the wrong sect comes to power. Not so much in the sense of outspoken atheists publishing "You know what? **** that 'God' person anyway" books, or neopagan sects popping up here and there, or French laicite. Certainly they will tolerate such things in the short term, as nobody is shooting them. But they have no reason to embrace them, and every reason to feel hostile or threatened if they sense their children starting to assimilate.

Ditto public nudity in Holland or on certain beaches in France. Widespread and, in some places, quite fantastic alcohol consumption, to say nothing of stronger drugs. Charlie "Look, we drew Muhammad fellating Jesus, isn't that funny?" Hebdo. Prominent, unashamed homosexuality. Outspoken women, and the prospect of competing with them for jobs or even serving under them. Jews! Jews everywhere! And lots of nativist parties freaking out about economic and cultural pressure.

Goodwill can make up for a good deal of this, but I suspect the new arrivals, even without meddling from IS, will be driven into insular blocs, and from there the result is almost foreordained. Barring the emergence of a fantastically transcendent figure or movement, Europe is facing an unhappy future.

If most immigrants work hard, then there is no reason not to close all loopholes for freeloaders to get in the country, and it's a good idea to send all freeloaders back. But it just isn't done.

Well, i guess Germany is rich. Russia is poor, we can't give free money to random people.
