1. Japanese interment had nearly unanimous support from Congress and was unanimously upheld by the Supreme Court. There was one Republican congressman who suggested giving the bill more consideration because it involved the rights of citizens, but the House passed it after debating it for ten minutes. It wasn't associated with a particular political party.
2. I said conservatives, not Republicans.
3. I wasn't talking about what people in the 1940s supported. I was talking about conservatives in the present, who make Reagan look like a liberal when it comes to putting American citizens in concentration camps because of their ethnicity.

A better question is what rights are they trying to protect. Not even the right to safety. You care more about people who aren't citizens, than the safety of Americans and your own country.

Some rights republicans are trying to protect...

1) Rights of Christians to pray in school, not approve of what they consider sin, have Christian symbols in their local communities (ten commandments etc.)
2) Freedom of speech (yes I believe the democrats are trying to take it away.)
3) Freedom of Association, the right to the Boy Scouts to not allow girls and gays to join (whether they will or not is another issue).
4) Family Rights. Support families. They are important to our culture.
5) Freedom to control your health care. Repeal Obamacare.
6) Freedom to be safe. Tough on crime, national defense, and terrorism.
7) Economic freedoms. Not just lower taxes, but low regulation.

And of course lower taxes and 2nd Amendment rights.

Like I said, not perfect, but probably better than dems.
