Maybe Aeson went 'full throttle pompous ass about it' when you followed up your light-hearted joke with the comment about that whole episode being funny as hell. I doubt he thought it was funny as hell at the time, not to mention the fact that seeing as it's clear you two seem to have serious history, nothing can really be 'light-hearted' if the other person can construe it as being a dig.

We used to argue a lot, but the only reason I went for light-hearted was because I thought he was actually chill enough to take it, and that us falling out frequently was in the past. Guess not.

In fact even this 'hint' at abusing moderator powers you've referred to was mentioned first by Elok.

When the owner of a site says if they wanted to abuse their powers they wouldn't ban me they'd do something 'far more interesting', I want to know what particular threat that is implying. Because if he's talking about using member info for doxxing or suchlike, then I have no interest in being part of this community any more anyway.

So, yeah I read the posts, and in my humble opinion, you don't, shall we say, come off favourably...

Is it really necessary for this to continue to spiral out of control?

A little levity was initially meant on both sides. No one is served well by it going any further.

As much as I think it would be entertaining and enjoyable to have a drink with you in a bar, you can sometimes come off looking like quite the ass. (probably intentional, but I just don't see the payoff on this one.)

You don't want to troll constantly great, but after many years of doing it, you don't get to have one month off and suddenly start lecturing others.

As for Aeson 'forgiving and forgetting' anything, I have absolutely no interest in his forgiveness. We used to argue because our personalities clash and nothing more. It seems however that now he's the owner, us having an argument requires you to jump in and start white knighting for him. He's a grown up, I'm sure he's more than capable of fighting his own battles.

If you assume that only about 10% of anything I post is intended particularly seriously, it might be easier to see I'm not in full on rant mode and am in reality having a perfectly chilled out evening. The closest I've come to actually being annoyed is being patronized by Mobius, but then again he knows that perfectly well which is why he's doing it.
