DD...You know that no matter what it means to some people, that is a symbol of hatred to others. In today's politically correct world, what else was the S.C. Governor supposed to do?

Reality does not always jibe with perception. The reality is that the Battle Flag is now generally accepted as a hate symbol. The heritage aspect of the flag is fading fast. It is something you should just accept and go on...there is no fighting it.

    • So Amazon says it's taking down its confederate flag products but a quick search shows it's still selling Lynyrd Skynyrd and Dukes of Hazzard merchandise. Is a hypothetical fan of either or both of those ipso facto racist, or can we cut it out with this self censorship shit?

It's surprising you can't find anything more useful to do with your time than defend a traitorous anti-American symbol of black oppression.

        • You know what, nevermind. I don't care, **** you if you think liking Lynyrd Skynyrd makes me racist. *puts on Sweet Home Alabama*

Man you can't find anything to do that's better than arguing with Ben Kenobi. Glass houses.

          • Odd. You can still get Nazi and Soviet flags on Amazon.

            • Every gun show I've been to has had enough such flags to satisfy an entire medium size country town so I imagine that those who want such items (myself not among them incidentally) will still get their fix. And that 6mo from now walmart will go back to stocking them. And that you'll still find them on keychains for sale at gas stations in Front Royal, VA.

It's time to ban a certain hate-filled flag

Realize most Americans don't care and not give into a typical liberal impulse to be seen doing something even if the something in question has nothing at all to do with the incident in question.

                  Forget that.

One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

I'm also pretty sure you can get Che merchandise as well.

You get a license to own the gun, which is iirc a simple written test and a background check (in the US, you just need the background check generally), then you can buy a semi-automatic rifle of your choice. In Mexico, getting a legal firearm is an arduous task. There's only one place in the country you can buy them and there's a ****load of restrictions.
Yes. And over here, getting a legal gun is pretty much as difficult as in mexico. Illegal guns are much less available though, and we have a correspondingly lower incidence of homicides. The difference? over 70% of illegal guns in Mexico were legally bought in the US by drug cartels and smuggled there. Central america has a similar problem, but greater availability of black-market guns from previous wars and guerillas means that 'only' about a third to 40% of guns there come from the US.

Do you seriously believe that all this illegal supply of guns is not affected, at all, by the supply of legal guns?

Mexico, due to its cartel problem and proximity to the us, isn't a good example. Over here, however, a big majority of illegal guns are guns stolen from the police and from private homes (about even, 1/3 of the total each).
In the US, those account for less than 20% of the total, and most of the rest were bought 'legally'.

                        • Almost no guns used in crimes here are legally owned. And again, you're mistaken about the source of guns in Mexico. They were not purchased by private citizens in US gun shops. The ATF is pretty good at detecting that, unless it's basically selling them itself.

Regardless, crime in Mexico isn't caused by availability of guns any more than it is in France. It's a symptom of the drug trade. Hence why despite easy access to legal guns in Canada (and according to you smuggled guns from the US), crime is not all that high.

A lot of them were bought legally.

Wich must mean that their source is legally owned guns, so drastically reduce such will also drastically reduce guns in the hands of crominals. Fewer legal guns will further reduce accidental killings, suicides, family disputes ending in killings etc. Pure win-win
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
