  • Why Do I Hate Soccer?

So I was fIipping through the channels and came upon a soccer game. It was the NY Red Bull versus NYCFC. I'm assuming it was US soccer. I was a bit fuzzy on the rules but the players were putting out a tremendous effort and the fans seemed to enjoy the match. But I just couldn't get into it. It looked rather exciting at times but it just didn't hold my attention. Maybe I'm just too old. It could be argued that it is more exciting than American Football at times but it looks like less strategy and more chaos. I'm not sure if a soccer coach is as essential as a football coach. It seems more player driven. Perhaps it is more exciting as a live even but the TV coverage really covered all angles. I know I love baseball but can't really stand to watch it on tv. Ironically listening to baseball or Football on the radio holds a lot of appeal to me. I do lots of driving and I can get into a game. I can say that a soccer match is better than an NBA game on tv.

I tried. I made it until the end but I don't believe I'll ever like it. I will be taking my son to another NFL game this year though. . Drove from here in Arkansas to Buffalo to see the Bills and Patriots last year and we both had a great 3 days.

There's a lot of tactical stuff going on, but its not as obvious because of the free flowing nature of the game. Games can also drift for long periods, with the action suddenly breaking out of nowhere. I can see how if you're used to American football, normal football could be difficult to get a grasp on. For most people who become fans later in life, its watching a particularly gripping game that does it. A really exciting 90 minutes of soccer can be electrifying.

The reason is because soccer is boring as ****.

Soccer is only popular because all you need is a ball and a clear patch of dirt, which any kid in some third world hell hole can manage to find.

This explains it's popularity in Australia and Scotland...

                      Why does soccer suck?

                      0-0 ties

                      Timer counts up.

                      Players are walking billboards.

                      "Football"
To us, it is the BEAST.

0-0 ties are indeed very boring generally.

As for the timer counting up, it's just that we attribute a minimum level of mental capacity to viewers.

Indeed, football. As played with a ball using your foot, as opposed to playing with an egg with your hand.

You should look up the history of "football" to understand how truly retarded it is to use the term to describe soccer.

It's definitely less retarded than using it to refer to american 'foot''ball'.
