    • Tspiras is forcing EU hand to kick them out - good strategy, as they formally have to stay in, but for that to continue EU has to keep on financing them, however it would be better for Greeks to regain their sovereignty, GTFO of EU and get their house in order while controlling all the institutions.

      Well played.

Will be interesting to see the wailing and gnashing of teeth from Berlin who stands to lose a lot (with subsidizing Greece), or more (by pushing them out)

Time for those who set the self-destructive policies in place to start feeling it on their own skin as well.

        • 11 million Greeks had their say. Now, 80 million Germans will respond.

These sound like decent ideas, but probably to Capitalist for Tsipras and Paiktis.

            • Not sure about Tspiras, but Paiktis will likely be OK with this one

              • meanwhile the EU recogises the humanitarian crisis and pledges funds.

The EU has pledged €2bn (£1.45bn; $2.15bn) to ease what it calls Greece's "humanitarian crisis" - echoing a term used by Greece to describe the results of its financial crisis.

European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker said the money would be spent on growth and "social cohesion".

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras welcomed the move, stressing a common need to tackle the humanitarian crisis.

                • And the EU has pretty much preemptively surrendered yet again. ****, if I was the Greeks I'd just stop collecting taxes and hang out without reforming anything too. No problem, let everyone else pay the bills.

                        • Is Greece one big homeless shelter, or are there people in Greece who could actually pay their taxes to fund the food and heating?
