Fair enough. This might be of interest to you (the author strikes something of a balance between our viewpoints).

They present some interesting data on the practical efficacy of a number of contraceptive methods, but they don't present any data on what portion of the 40% of out-of-wedlock pregnancies were using any type of contraception. I suspect the number is high.
