I was trying to figure out how that would even work. THC doesn't dissolve in water. Any kind of liquid concentrate is going to be alcohol based. Barring some sort of high-tech pharmaceutical wizardry, that is.

Uh, I'm not exactly sure what happens if you inject pot. I'm assuming they mean the plant and not the purified drug marinol, which isn't prepared in a form suitable for injecting either. How would you inject pot? Would you make a tea out of it by boiling it in water? Perhaps you could put it in something like a hookah, burn it, draw the smoke off and trap the smoke in a solute? Perhaps you could grind it into super-fine particles then suspend the particles in a solution?

The relationship between alcohol intoxication and blood alcohol levels is not the sme as the relationship between marijuana intoxication and blood THC or urine THC levels. Once absorbed from the gut alcohol distributes pretty much evenly amongst the body's tissues and it's removed from the body pretty much at a constant rate, so the blood alcohol level is an accurate measure of the amount of alcohol in your brain and can even be used to calculate the level of intoxication at a specific point in the near past. Marijuana is different, it is poorly soluble in aqueous solutions, but well soluble in lipids, so once absorbed it rapidly redistributes out of blood to lipid rich areas like the brain. It can accumulate also, You could be high as a kite and have very low blood levels. Urine levels are useful because marijuana and it's meatbolites are excreted. If you're an infrequent smoker you're not going to have thc metabolites in your urine for 2 weeks, you might for 3 to 4 days. It's the habitual smoker who continues to show thc in their urine for 2 weeks.
