    • Mel Robbins says “FEAR-bola” is a hyper-contagious disease that affects the brain, making sufferers fear a widespread Ebola outbreak in the U.S.

Navarro has rejected every student application from Nigeria, a country with 174 million people and 20 cases of Ebola.

Uh-oh. I don't visit the babe threads. Should I? Will that protect me from the Ebola?

“Solon Middle School and Parkside Elementary School will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, October 16, as a precaution. We learned today that an SMS staff member traveled home from Dallas on Frontier Airlines Tuesday on a different flight, but perhaps the same aircraft, as the Texas nurse with Ebola.

This circumstance came to light late in the day and we have been working since then to get as much information as possible from public health authorities. Although we believe what the science community and public health officials are telling us about the low risk of possible transmission of the virus through indirect contact, we are nonetheless taking the unusual step of closing the dual school building for Thursday so that we can have the schools cleaned and disinfected.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District confirmed that it was made aware that a teacher who works at Cranwood School may have come into contact with a person diagnosed with Ebola virus. City Health Officials have assured officials that students, staff, and families were not at risk, but CMSD has taken several precautions to ease any concerns about safety at the school. Overnight, the school is being cleaned with a bleach-based cleaning solution in accordance with the guidelines provided by the CDC.

Ben isn't the one panicking there.

Well, I haven't gotten Ebola yet, what does that tell you?

            • I must admit that I can understand Ben's concern wrt the school thing. Without spending time in them as an adult it's hard to appreciate just how poor children and adolescents' personal hygiene is, their degree of personal contact, and what germ-infested surfaces there are in schools. When I worked in them I got into the habit of avoiding touching anything unnecessarily, and washing my hands every time I passed a tap, which was often as my desk was next to the sink in the Maths staff room.

              • Ben doesn't care about kids other than molesting them. He's just trying to use them to promote his fear-based agenda.

We are a significant locus for disease distribution. Not just between children to staff, but from children to their families. One child can pass it onto other families that wouldn't otherwise face exposure.

Who's hiding out? I specified unnecessary travel.

                      • I'm gonna be about a mile away from an Ebola patient later today. I may have never had this much implicit faith in my government before.
