I am pretty certain Obama can't just unilaterally say "nobody gets in from Liberia." And that his intentions are other than being a crypto-antiamerican-commiefascist.
Uh, isn't that exactly how your immigration system works in the first place? Pull the travel visas at the point of entry. Is it a Liberian visa? Deny entry.

Hmm, on one hand we have Ben and some stupid politicians saying a travel ban is good. On the other hand we have aid agencies and medical organizations who actually work to contain Ebola saying it's bad. Now I wonder why of those is likely to have the correct answer.
Question, why hasn't ebola spread to Ivory Coast? Could it have something to do with the fact that travel bans from afficted countries work. Also - and it has been said before - Obama's already sent military assets, so why is a civilian travel ban problematic? Send in the aid and the workers in with the military.
There is no reason to restrict travel TO Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone. Ever reason to restrict travel TO America, from these three countries.
Plus it would shut down those med-evacs.

and in the process, you would hamper or eliminate the successful (so far from what I've read) treatment programs
They've already had one person contract ebola off a med-evac. Is it really worth spending millions of dollars to transport one person home to infect others? No. Set up an ebola camp somewhere in Africa, or on one of the islands in the Atlantic, and fly your med-evacs there. Don't fly them back to the US.
Bonus, if it's close enough to Liberia, once it's up and running, you now have a clean field hospital you can use to treat anyone in Liberia.
Is it expensive? Yes. But on a per-person basis it's cheaper than the damn med-evacs and you can actually put a dent in the damn ebola cases.
Med-evacs don't do ****.

This whole believing in the opposite of reality thing you got going on is not serving you well
Which is why Obama is now doing screening on arrivals to the US for folks flying from Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea?
Gosh. sounds like he knows that a travel ban would be effective but is willing to go so far as to do ineffectual half measures.

I forget which country it was, maybe Liberia, and I read that they had around 50 or so doctors in 2010. Most of them have died of Ebola.
... that's the sort of medical infrastructure BK wants to solve this problem
